Razer i9 9th gen 9880h

I am just wondering the thoughts of forum users, MSI recently has put out a i9-9880h GS65/GS75.

I am looking to buy a laptop in the very near future.

I was wondering, being a VERY big razer fan, Should I wait to see if Razer is going to do an i9?

I am a software engineer and require as many cores as possible, Even thou this will be my "Outside" rig, I still require the cores.

Do you think razer will do an i9-9880h, and Should I just wait?

My thought is it’ll be thermal throttle and won’t gain extra performance, even it’ll be the system won’t hold long due operating on high temperature. On 8750H 6 cores gs75 is already hitting 90ish, probably cpu undervolting and repasting would be necessary if you want to have longer system lifespan on i9 in this thin form factor. I remember my 8750H on Blade performs better than i9 on MacBook, not quite sure if it’s thermal throttle or Apple power limit it too low. Here’s 6 cores 8750H on gs75 bigger cassis than gs65, I can imagine if it’s i9 Inside it, there’s also Gtx Blade 15 2018 in comparison, rtx Blade 2019 has better cooling due higher fans rpm.
I am more worried about power throttling then Thermal Throttling.

The new Pro 17 seems to handle temps VERY well, and as Dave Lee, said "They could have put the i9 into this."

I kinda understand why they DIDNT put the i9 in, costs and all, however for my line of work, I just require more cores unfourtantly.

I will probably wait a bit, to see if an i9 comes out in Razer, otherwise, I will be forced to make the switch to another brand :(

(Thermals of the 9880h seem to be pretty well, I think the razer blade 15 sits at like 65c under load currently, im fine with thermals getting to high 80's and 90)

I was commenting about gs75/65 with i9.
About power limit, most thin and light categories doing that only different values depends on their cooling system, it’s known issues from 6 cores cpu and intel doesn’t bring new chips, keep it on 14nm like old quad cores with more cores and now on 9th gen still same chips with higher boost clock. Blade 15 cpu thermal, it depends on usage, max cpu load like on gaming on cpu demanding titles, it can spike to 90ish or even more if you turn on gaming mode with Turbo Boost on max all cores 3,9.
