Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 not recognized properly?

This has been making me insane.

My Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 is listed in Devices and Printers as "Unspecified" its a big grey box.

I've removed and re-added it from device manager and it still populates there as opposed to as a headset.

The naga, and my chroma v2 etc all show up properly, but the headset is no bueno.

Anyone seen this and have a fix?

Hey. I appreciate the reply. Unfortunately that's a case of been there, done that.

I probably shouldve been a bit more clear in the OP. The headset functions fine, it's just not being identified as a headset (or anything evidently) in devices and printers - and so it has the generic icon and falls under the "unspecified" category alongside my rift sensors.

purely aesthetic best i can tell. just tickling my ocd a bit 😛
Its not a USB headset, the USB is just to power the controller for controlling the volume. It doesnt need to recognised by pc for using the headset. As long you dedicated or on-board sound card detect it and can out 7.1 channel suround audio you are good to go. You cant control the headset with any razer software as this is analogue headset rather usb headset.

Well that explains the why more or less. Sounds like it’s something I get to live with then.

thanks for clarifying it a bit for me.
I have the same issues, and more so my microphone is not being detected, instead my laptop uses the inbuilt microphone.. I've looked around on google and youtube but couldn't find any solution. Any solution to this?

try this one, worked for me:
These are analog headphone no need for PC to detect. its has to be you inbuilt card. If you using in latop i doubt you can take 7.1 out . Select the built in or dedicated audio card in pc and set to 7.1 or stereo mode
