razerblade 15 (2018) advanced camera driver not found

the computer just doesn't think there is a webcam anymore.
Looking in Device Manager, it's just not even there. i made sure the camera is enable on everything and that my anti virus isn't blocking it, I even look into device manager to show hidden devices, the integrated webcam isn't anywhere to be found and i was wondering if their is a manual driver that i can install.

Hi there! Thanks for creating this thread. It's a possible hardware issue since the camera isn't available on the Windows device manager. Were there any changes made to your system/device before the issue? Did you receive and install any Windows updates recently? Please help me gather details from your laptop so we isolate it. Send me the following:

a. Video/screenshot of Device Manager showing the missing camera driver. Please check the webcam driver under Imaging devices or Sound, video, and game controllers too.

b. Video/screenshot of Device manager for microphone under "Sound, video and game controllers" and Sound properties in the system tray.

c. Photo of BIOS main tab.
d. Screenshot of System Information (Press Windows Key+R on your keyboard. Inside the Run dialog box, type “msinfo32.exe”)

e. Screenshot of your Windows Update history.

f. Razer Synapse version.

g. Have you performed Windows System Restore or Razer Blade's factory reset? (Yes or No):

Note: Please save the files in your Google Drive or another online drive account then send the link via PM. Let's continue from there.
I'm facing the same issue. Also Razer logo is not lighting up. Tech support says the two are related. I've deleted and re-download synapse, rebotted the computer with and without back up. The laptop is practically new and I have hardly even used it untill just recently, as it is one of several devices I have. I can't justify sending it in to for repairs when there is no logical reason other than a software / manufacture defect.

hmm this is interesting...now that you mention it, my logo isn't lit anymore either and I'm also having webcam detection issues. I also just recently bought this laptop (Dec 2020) and have barely used it. This sounds like a software/update problem. Can't possibly be a hardware malfunction with so many of our rigs all at once...can it?

Hi there! Please send me a PM too together with your laptop's serial number. I'll wait for your follow-up.
I am having the same problem, although my razer logo is lit. No webcam driver, tried to do all the obvious stuff like rebooting, enabling hidden drivers in device manager, all to no avail. So i guess that i am in need of help too. I can see the others in the thread having to send speedcr0ss a PM. Should I do that too?

Hi there! Ensure your Razer Synapse 3.0, BIOS, and EC firmware are updated. Feel free to send me a PM should you need additional assistance.
Hi there fellow webcam troubled people,

Not sure if the webcam trouble is still relevant (it was for me) and I just solved the problem.

before I start explaining the quick fix I want to state that I have already tried almost every solution that has been given by Razr and my other fellow webcam trouble people on reddit.

Now we've got that out of the way, let's start with the solution

Solution
1. Click on your windows logo (in the bottom left of your screen)
2. Type: camera
3. You will see the out of the box windows camera app. Right click this app
4. Click on app settings
5. Do a quick check if your permissions are on (you can leave your location on "off")
6. Scroll downwards and Click on the button Terminate
7. Below terminate you can see the word Reset. Click on the Reset button
8. Restart your laptop
9. When you laptop is started click on the windows logo on the bottom left of your screen
10. Type camera
11. Click on the camera app
12. Wait a bit (<1 min) you will see your camera light slowly turn on

Tip
When you open your webcam in skype or Microsoft teams (or whatever program you're using), you might encounter that your webcam will not work. Just turn your webcam button in skype on and off (those are the times that "have you tried turning it off and on again really works) keyword: patience

Anotha Tip

If my previous tip does not fully kick your webcam back to life again, do this:
1. click windows logo (bottom left of your screen)
2. Type: privacy
3. Click on the lock logo wich says Privacy settings
4. in the left menu of the screen scroll down and click on camera
5. Scroll down and you will see a list of apps that have used your webcam in the past
6. You will see your chat program (skype, teams ,etc.) and it should state: "currently in use"

I hope my solution will also be your solution and more over I hope that someone is reading this, otherwise I've typed this all for nothing.

ps.
if your webcam works again (that's great) BUT, if your webcam start acting crazy again, repeat the solution steps.
