I'm about to replace my SSD on my razer, i'm following this tutorial:

I'm wondering if anything has done this to their RB 2020 and if will have to save the driver for the WIFI on the USB stick as he recommended or if that's not a necessary step on the RB 2020.

Also i reckon i need a T5 screwdriver as well or does the 2020 need a different one?

Thank You

There should be a 2nd slot for the 2nd m.2. The m.2 wifi module should not be affected by installing a 2nd SSD.

forgot to mention i got the 300hz one with the 2070, so i believe there is no extra hd slot.
Ah ok, well I don't think you can't put a m.2 ssd in the place of the wifi module. The m.2 slot for the wifi module is a E key rather than the M key. The position of the notches on the connector will be different. I believe wifi modules are typically 2242 rather than 2280 in size. I think the best option here is to purchase an external SSD if there is no additional m.2 slot M key. Unless if you are replacing the OEM SSD it comes with, then you would have to reinstall windows and all the required drivers, software etc.

i did not mean to replace the wifi module with a hard drive.

I'm just asking if I should save the wifi driver as well or if Windows will be able to recognize it without me needing t to install it.
You can definitely save a copy of the driver on a USB stick.

It isn’t necessary to save WiFi driver when doing clean install, windows will do that, probably you’ve only to install Razer Synapse 3 and nvidia driver manually or using nvidia experience. And all blade use Torx T5 for opening bottom lids, and for ssd screw it’s normal screwdriver.
I am also having similar issue using the facility. I have tried to resolve this issue, but I have not succeeded yet! Any help will be appreciated.
with the Razer 2020 and Windows 10 i did not have to download the wi-fi drivers, it worked out of the box.

it was quite easy actually!

super happy about it.
