THX Spatial Audio fallback device not working properly.

I have recently purchased a Blackshark V2 Pro. With it comes the use of the Razer THX Spatial Audio plugin that is recommended to use as the default playback device. Within Synapse (submenu audio > sound), it allows you to easily set the THX Spatial Audio as the default playback device and choose another device outside of the headset for THX Spatial audio to fall back to when the headset is not plugged in or turned on. I have selected my external speakers in this menu, but with the THX spatial audio selected, my sound does not transfer to my speakers when I turn off the headset. If the headset is off, I get no sound at all and have to manually change the device in my windows audio settings, seemingly losing any benefit from the THX audio plugin and losing what would be a very convenient audio switch.

Should I be setting this up differently than what is called out in Synapse? Thank you.

same problem
Same. Can we have a response from Razer please?
I want to post a follow-up to this since I see others have had the same issue, in hopes that it warrants official response.

I utilized the support chat to talk to someone regarding this issue a couple of months ago and was told that the drop down box I was referring to in the sound properties of the headset did not, in fact, do what I thought. I was told that it does NOT set "a default output device that THX Spatial Audio will fallback to when device is not connected" and they could not tell me what the drop down box actually does. Needless to say, I considered that approach fruitless and have dealt with it by manually switching things every time I take off the headset.

I personally think it may have something to do with the fact that those sound properties are specifically tied to the headset itself and while Synapse is running when the headset is not on, the options and any functionality tied to the headset within the discovered devices menu are not available. If the headset isn't on, Synapse doesn't see it and therefor doesn't enact any of the settings within. That's my thought anyway. I don't see a workaround if that is the case.

I'd love it if Razer could chime in with some clarification in all this because that fluid transition would do wonders for many of us.
So, the fallback device does work, but not in the way you expect it to. It falls back to the device when the USB receiver is unplugged. Which is pretty useless if you ask me.

Furthermore, both the THX and the blackshark audio still appear in the sound list even though it is turned off. You would expect this behaviour from THX, but at least disable the blackshark audio.

Indeed. Razer should really change this functionality
Hijsm, thanks for clarifying that. I agree that it is useless, but if I had to choose the "least bad", I do prefer simply unplugging the wireless usb receiver and then plugging it back in when I need it as opposed to going to the Windows sound settings every damn time. It's still useless though - this fallback should be when the device is off and not when the usb receiver is unplugged.
I have the same issue and I also noticed when the fallback is active the volume control doesn't work either. Since the THX device is active using hotkeys or the taskbar symbol will only change the volume level of the THX device but it is not forwarded to the fallback device. Even muting does nothing.

At first I though this fallback is basically a software version of the base station that the Steelseries Arctis has (you connect the speaker cable to the base station and it will use those if the headset is off) but with the bugs it has right now it is worse than useless.
I have the same problem. If the USB needs to unplug then the software is useless.
My Razer Kraken Kitty are the same, it's kind of shitty paying for something that doesn't work as intended..
Same here with my Blackshark V2 Pro!!!

Please fix this issue.
