THX Spatial Audio for PC's error after update

Dear Support,

I have a Raze Book with preinstalled THX Spatial Audio for PC's application.
OS: Windows 11

Yesterday (2021.12.14) the Windows Update updated the following THX related drivers to the 2.5.1.1 version:

- THX - AudioProcessingObject - 2.5.1.1
- THX - SoftwareComponent - 2.5.1.1
- THX - Extension - 2.5.1.1

After the update, the THX Spatial Audio for PC's application doesn't work properly. The issues are the following:

- the sound is echoing
- the Music settings drop-down menu is missing (please see the attached pictures)
- Bass Boost slider missing (please also see the attached pictures)
- the THX stereo and THX Spatial Audio slider doesn't do anything, only the loading icon spinning
- I turn on the volume leveling options but doesn't hear any difference

Please see the attached pictures for comparison. (THX before the update, THX after update)

If I go to the Device manager and restore the former drivers (from 2.5.1.1 to 1.0.3.53):

- THX Spatial Audio Hardware Support Application - 1.0.3.53
- THX Spatial Audio Configuration Component - 1.0.3.53
- THX Spatial Audio Service Component - 1.0.3.53

then the indicated THX Spatial Audio for PC's application problem is solved. But if I restart my Razer Book, I don't have sound, despite, the Windows „see” my speakers.

If I open the device manager again and reinstall the latest (2.5.1.1) drivers for those software components I mentioned above and restart my Razer Book, I have sound again.

So right now I have two options:

- restore the former drivers and I have a working THX Spatial Audio for PC's application, but after my first restart I not gonna have sound

- or I use the latest drivers, but then I have a THX Spatial Audio for PC's application which is not working properly

Can you please fix this issue? I don't know that is a mass error, or it just affects me individually; the only thing I know is that this is not the proper operation of the THX Spatial Audio for PC's application.

Thanks in advance.
Milan

I contacted THX support too about this issue. I received the following answer:

"Thanks - this aligns with the release of a Windows update that breaks the functionality of Microsoft Universal Windows Platform (UWP) applications.

We're planning an update release for January; until then, you may use the following beta installer to see if this resolves the issue:

It's Christmas Day in the US, and we're technically closed, but hopefully, this will assist you in resolving the issue.

Happy Holidays!

THX Technical Support"

The beta worked well, and as I see they rolled out the new update (ver. 2021.1214.1.0) in the Microsft Store.
I have the same issue on my Razer Blade 14, THX not working after upgrading from windows 10 to windows 11. Can you share the beta please? I am only seeing ver 2021.510.1.0 in the store.
Hy,
sorry for the late reply. I can send it to you in about 3 hours , when I arrive to home.
No worries, thanks so much! Looking forward to it. Here's the response from Razer Support:
"We're so sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Razer Blade 14 wherein it is having issues with the THX Spatial Audio. We truly understand the situation and this is not the kind of experience we want you to have. Rest assured I'll do my very best to assist you, and provide a possible better solution.

Just to inform you, as of the moment THX Spatial Audio is still not compatible with Windows 11. But rest assured our developers are working on this to fix this concern."

If so, how did they release the new Razer Blade 15 with Windows 11 preinstalled? Does it not have THX?
The "funny" thing is that I have a Razer Book. Razer's one selling point about this laptop is the THX feature, and the other one is the Windows 11 OS. 🙂

I understand that this app is a 3rd party app that is pre-installed on the laptop with the participation of THX. But in this case, Razer could report the problem to THX.

I heard rumors about Razer's not so good support, but man I didn't even dream about that is real. :D

I sent to your profile the OneDrive link to download the beta version. 😉
Amazing man! It worked like a charm! now the sound is back to the way it used to be! The version is now 2021.1214.1.0. Crazy that I can't find the file anywhere in the internet! Thank you thank you thank you!

Well they are okay, at least they responded to my issue within a day so I would call that okay-ish even they don't have a solution.

Thanks again.
No problem, you are welcome. ;)

Cause it is just a beta SW, that's why you can't find on the internet. I am glad that this version works for you too. 🙂
Hi there, it seems I have the identical issue, is there any chance you'd be able to forward me the beta software as well? Microsoft store shows an outdated version as well. Thanks in advance!

I got the Razer Book for Christmas and the THX audio worked great and then an update broke it. Can someone send me the beta update as well? PLEASE :smile_::smile_:
