hey guys!

I bought the Razer Blade 15 advanced (with the gtx 1060) and I really like it!

I use it for Videoediting, gaming and some other stuff and I want to replace my desktop pc.
Do you know, how the laptop behave when it is permanently connected to the power supply? Does it still use the battery and recharge it or runs it over the power supply?:)

how do you handle it if you need the laptop all day?

Thak you so much!:)

When the laptop is connected to the power supply that it came with, it will always charge even when you're using extremely demanding programs (at least, that's what has been happening with me on my 15/2080 model). However, if you plan on using it without the PSU for an entire day, I wouldn't recommend doing anything that uses video or audio.. The only way I'm able to get 4-5 hours out of mine on a full charge is if I go to complete battery saver mode, and I don't use websites that have video, Skype minimally, and Outlook/Office apps... When I start to use VMs or anything similar, the battery goes from 4 hours remaining, down to 1:30 😞.
Thanks for youre Reply!:) Yes, I know this, but what happens if I use the laptop for Videoediting, power supply conected (with 100% full battery)? Does the laptop still use the battery? Or does it use the power supply to run with ?

Thanks!:)
Oh I understand, I guess you're wondering if this is eating away at your battery lifespan 🙂. I don't think it is.. I haven't run tests, but I do recall seeing my battery stagnant at 98% or so and (not charging) since the entire machine was running off my PSU.. Hopefully someone can confirm.

Battery will stop charging on 90ish to 100 percentage once it’s full to avoid overcharging, check on battery bar it’ll be stated 100% charged or at 90ish plugged not charging mark. So it’ll use AC Adapter unless you’re using a laptop that ac adapter can delivery well power that the parts are needed the battery will discharge and keep charging, but on AC adapter mostly it’ll use power from the wall. I use since Blade 2015 mostly at home plugged on the wall without worrying anything maybe battery wear would be faster on this usage but after 14 months Blade 15 it’s still providing me 6 hours plus battery pretty similar as first time, old Blade 14 battery wear was maybe around half to one hour from 4 to 3 plus it was touch screen with older non efficient cpu on 2 years gaming and on go work usage FYI.
