Blackwidow V4 Pro [fn] + [pause] /sleep Not Working | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I’ve had my Blackwidow V4 Pro for a little over a month now, and recently it’s been bugging out with the fn + pause key to put my laptop to sleep.

What’s curious is that if I quit Synapse, the fn + pause key does put my laptop to sleep correctly, and it’s only when Synapse is running that it doesn’t work.

I’ve tried reinstalling Synapse to no avail. Help, anyone?

Edit: Blackwidow V4 pro firmware version 1.0.8.0

Synapse version 3.8.930.91517

It has also stopped working on my V3 Blackwidow. Was working fine since I got the keyboard a couple years ago but has stopped since a couple weeks ago. I’ve got the latest firmware and synapse version on win11 PC.  If you close synapse then it works again. Must be a synapse thing but how to fix it?

Hey, not sure that this will help for your scenario, but I figured out that my issue was being caused by the USB dock that I was using. I had my keyboard plugged into a 1-to-4 USB port extension device that I guess was, alongside Synapse, causing the malfunction. The issue was resolved when I switched to a different USB port.

Didn’t work for me :(

I've done some research and here are a few things you can try:

  • Update Synapse to the latest version. Razer releases updates to Synapse regularly, so it's important to make sure that you're using the latest version. You can check for updates by opening Synapse and clicking on the gear icon in the top right corner. Then, click on "Check for updates."
  • Run Synapse as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the Synapse icon and select "Run as administrator."
  • Disable any other keyboard software that you're using. Sometimes, other keyboard software can conflict with Synapse and cause problems. If you're using any other keyboard software, try disabling it to see if that fixes the problem.
  • Reset Synapse to its default settings. To do this, open Synapse and click on the gear icon in the top right corner. Then, click on "Reset" and select "Reset to defaults."

If you've tried all of the above and the problem is still persisting, you can try contacting Razer support for further assistance.
