Burnt BlackWidow Elite USB ports

byteDaffodilquick644

Hello everyone
I’m creating this thread because I recently ran into a problem with my BlackWidow Elite keyboard; as I was using it a few days ago, I suddenly noticed a subtle smell of smoke, which immediately became more intense. I then checked out the motherboard of my PC, and saw that the plastic around the two USB ports of the keyboard were literally melting; I immediately disconnected the cables and switched off the computer. After some minutes, I turned the computer on again and procceeded to check if the rest of the peripherals still worked properly, and thank god they did. However, the keyboard wasn’t functioning anymore (as expected, after the USB ports had burned) and now I’m here.
Does anybody have any idea of what could have happened? It doesn’t seem like the motherboard is broken or anything (the computer itself is doing fine), however I am uncertain of whether the damages in the keyboard are merely in the cables or have reached the inner circuits.
Here are a couple pictures of it:

Thanks for your help, and have a good day
