Heavy weight software not wanted! | Razer Insider

So I needed a backlit keyboard of ANY kind. Not even looking for fancy features.

Choice fell on Razer Cynosa Chroma because price, and I could not find any simple keyboards with normal backlit keys.

Upon the software/drivers, no less than 9!! background processes is started on my computer. I was hoping I could set a basic single color static backlight and close down the software and related background processes, but NO, then the keyboard defaults back to the ever color changing, breathing, obnoxious pattern!

Please tell me there's a way to accomplish what I want. Can't the keyboard internally remember my set profile and I can shut down the software? I'm running a slick clean system here, and thats how I like it.

If this is not possible I'm going to have to return it. 😞
Please tell me there's a way to change the default pattern the keyboard reverts to, when the software is shut down...!

Not possible I believe, even with onboard memory.

The Roccat suora FX is the one you are looking for. nice frameless design, RGB, albeit i have the non FX one that's just blue as it's the only colour i'd use.

Blue only come in around 50-70 and the RGB ones at around 80 GBP

nice clicky mechanical switches and good solid construction, drivers light on the system and decent updates that are easily applied with notifications of updates.

The Cynosa Chroma does not have in-built memory on board. About the processes, it will run as the Razer processes syncs the customization to the peripherals. But for me, it does not take much RAM as you mentioned.

You can always, get in touch with the Razer support to get more clarity on your query.

Dammit i do not hope this is true... im very irritated by all the running processes!!! im just looking for a soft static led setting.. I was soooo happy that finaly have a new turret for more then 300euro's, because it's very hard to get device in Europe!! and now I read this.. I tried many things to get my settings saved on the device but when I delete the ridiculous cr*pload of software that is constantly running and doing things in the background (getting the feeling like its spyware!!).... I'm using this keyboard and mouse on a Extreme High Fidelity Video an Audio PC for work and private use, and that requires for my PC to be as clean as it can get... not this.... when I read the manual and every other information I can find for this device it clearly says that it has 5 ONBOARD profile memory's that can be used on other devices without synapse installed.....

So I hope that i'm doing something wrong or that there is a bug in the device that clearly needs to be addressed!!

If not.. then I will be returning this device to... I personaly can't understand why someone would want to have this software installed?? I can understand it with some features such as the ambi light and others that it could require 1 xtra process to run to manage this function.. but all of the rest of the processes?? that would be very strange if someone chooses this... and if this is the only way to leD it work without christmas mode then its probably spyware that makes use of the unaware users, and that would make me VerY sick and disapointed..

But I'm still hoping for a positive response from Razer and then I will reporting this back and correct my premature anger..

If this is the reality of this hardware it should be the leading topic and addressed in the manual and specs... and other wise there should be a work around for this to re-flash the stock firmware and replace the christmessy mode for something that made for HW Enthusiasts who want a clean system..
