How about a Kickstarter for an Orbweaver V2 or new Keypad? | Razer Insider

Just as Razer made a Kickstarter for the left-handed Razer Naga Trinity, how about a Kickstarter for a Razer Orbweaver V2 or a new Razer Keypad with Opto-Mechanical Purple Switches? I'm planning to buy a Razer Blade 15 this month and would love to complete my setup with a brand new Razer Keypad and a Razer Naga Trinity.

While I would have preferred a wireless Razer Naga Trinity Epic, I could settle for the wired one; however I don't think I can compromise with buying the Razer Tartarus V2 since the Mecha-Membrane Keys don't feel as good as true Mechanical Switches, let alone the Opto-Mechanical Switches. The current Razer Orbweaver is also only supported by Synapse 2 which I don't plan on installing in the new Razer Blade 15.

As a laptop gamer who's always on the go, the Razer Orbweaver has been an amazing travel companion and it would really suck to travel with a keyboard all the time just to enjoy playing games.

It's been a very long time since Razer updated the Razer Orbweaver and I have seen many here that are interested in seeing a new keypad or at least for the Orbweaver to be supported by Synapse 3. Is anyone else willing to fund a Kickstarter for a new Razer Mechanical Keypad? I'm ready to pay for a keypad with Razer Purple Switches!
Count me in. I was wanting to know when orbweaver v2 going to release as i need one so soon. I am interested in kickstarter.
I dont think Razer need a fund to make a new keypad ^^ but i agree the orbweaver need a refresh. I use huntsman elite so yeah in my case buying a orbweaver chroma is the most stupid thing i can do change fast opto-mechanical switch to old mechanical 😛 For quite some time i want this kind of device to "World of Warcraft". Like i write before old switch and plastic body with old chroma strip is not the best value.

You cant actually feel the difference in terms of speed from a mechanical switch to a opto-mechanical switch. Its mostly placebo and you will likely have more delays in the chain of action on a PC like internet latency or input lag over USB polling than the miniscule latency increase from the mechanical keyboard.

I would love those stabilizers they use on the opto switches on their mechanical key switches.

I'm starting to believe they do since it's been too long since we have seen an update to the Orbweaver.

Even so, the Purple Switches feel very good to press over the other Razer Switches.

My personal rankings for Razer Switches are:

Purple Opto-Mechanical > Orange Tactile > Green Clicky > Yellow Linear > Mecha-Membrane > Membrane

Hmmm that is mostly personal preference. For me I kind of like the Mecha-Membrane switches the best just because of the low height keycaps.

Thanks for the cleanup. I was afraid this thread was going to get derailed from arguing.

But anyways, with the release of Synapse 3 and new mechanical key switches from Razer, I strongly believe that it's time for an updated Razer Orbweaver or a new Razer Keypad. It's been far too long and I am afraid that Razer may believe that programmable keypads are too niche of a market and won't generate enough revenue like the Left-Handed Razer Naga Trinity.

I am hoping that this thread may generate enough discussion and support for Razer to consider creating a new mechanical keypad or start a Kickstarter campaign. I would really love an updated mechanical keypad with an Ergonomic Wrist Rest and Opto-Mechanical Keys featured in other products.

As a laptop gamer and MMO gamer, this is by far the most convenient and useful Razer product I have ever used.
I have recently purchased the Orbweaver Stealth, and I loved it more so was overly happy with the device. However to my surprise the lack of software support was shocking to say the least. Thankfully I was able to work with customer service and got a refund. Replaced it with the tuaratus v2....And No I am not a fan of the button switch, or the lack of ergo support. But the software support has been a deal breaker here for sure.

I use the game pad as work tool for macros and hot keys mainly. And it has been awesome so far.
Count me in as well. Am in the market for a gaming pad but refuse to get the 4 year old orbweaver and did not lj ike the tartarus v2! Am waiting for the Orbweaver V2, from what it appears, Razer releases a model every 2 years looking back, so hope 2019 would be the year for an Orbweaver v2 (mechanical stealth).
how about they first add the chroma orbweaver to synapse 3 to begin with?

#1 reason i put it back in its box and regarding the way razer is supporting its (not even) 2yr old devices, it doesn't look like i'll get a new revision of it.
Agreed, I want to buy one but the original is not on the new software so not purchasing. A mechanical one for synapse 3 I would get.

Much more comfortable than using a normal keyboard.
