Huntsman Elite - does it use 2nd gen linear optical switches..?
Hello all,
I currently own the Huntsman Mini 60% keyboard, which actually replaced a Huntsman TE that fell in battle at the hands of an overzealous teenager with a very large soda.
One of the first things I noticed about the Mini was that the keys both felt and sounded far better than the TE. I realized afterwards that the linear optical switches in the Mini are actually a 2nd gen switch with built-in dampening, etc. I actually dug the TE back out to compare, and it's a huge and very satisfying improvement.
That being said, I've been getting back into the MMO world, and am finding myself wanting a full-sized board instead of the compact Mini - gotta have all those extra keys for macros, etc. Therein lies my question:
Does the Huntsman Elite use the new 2nd gen linear optical switches, or does it only come equipped with the original 1st gen ones..? I'd hate to purchase a new board only to find it has the older, inferior switches in it. I'd considered the K100 that's out there since it has extra macro keys available, but I would prefer to stick with the opto-mechanical switches the Huntsman line of boards uses. I wasn't able to find any indication on the product page that confirms which generation of switches the Huntsman Elite comes equipped with. If anyone has any insight or personal experience with this, I'd greatly appreciate some help. Want to make sure I make the right purchase decision.
Thanks!
