Hypershift key turns off lightning.

As you have seen in the title, when i enable hypershift on my black widow elite all the lightning turns off except from the f9-f12 and pause. So i want to set G to open up chrome when i use hypershift but since the keyboard goes all black i cant see anything. Is there any way i can set hypershift to have a custom lightning when i enable hypershift?(i want to set G to orange for example). Thanks in advance.
