Hi,
I’m looking for a new keyboard. I need one that I can program keys to open programs during gameplay and one that I can open ITunes with and control volume and switch songs. I have programs that sporadically crash while in game so I need to be able to assign opening a program to a key. Any suggestions? I just purchased a new Naga Trinity mouse.

I was trying to think of a Razer keyboard for you...but i just realised that they do not release anymore keyboards with dedicated macro switches ( unless u don't mind the older Blackwidow Ultimates). However, that's not a problem anymore since they have HyperShift option via Synapse 3. So, I would definitely recommend the Blackwidow Elite with yellow switches if you're looking for a more linear and silent typing experience or even a Blackwidow Lite if you're on a budget ( no rgb tho). Anyways this is just my recommendation and I think that you should do your research via youtube videos too and hear what experienced reviewers have to say about these keyboards.

Dude, for your requirements I strongly suggest the BlackWidow Elite. I got one the other day, and wow is it a game changer! It has multimedia buttons above the numpad to skip, pause, play and volume. Programmable macros, and the mechanical switches are super responsive! I took the green switches and absolutely love the "click-y" sounds!
You won't regret getting the BlackWidow Elite!

Does not include the new Analog Optical switch, but the following has a good insight to it

‘Did you try setting up a key to open a program? The media keys sound like they will work for me, thanks for your input. Since you have one and responded to my post, could you set up a macro key to try and open a program and let me know if it works for you? Thanks in advance either way
Hey, Yeah I just quickly built one to test for you. I just used a Command Prompt Macro to open an app on my PC and had the macro bound to a button on my KB. Pressed it once and the macro followed the exact sequence of events to open it. Macro's defo work.
And if not mistaken, you have onboard memory and Synapse space to build macros. It's also per Profile and you can have multiple profiles (each with it's own lighting / RGB and Macro) combinations
