Question about De-soldering switches in the Blackwidow elite

Hi, I have a quick question about my blackwidow elite- Can switches in it be De-soldered separately from the RGB leds inside of the board? I believe that the leds are built into the PCB rather than the switch itself, but I wanted to make sure. I also wanted to ask if it was possible to replace the switches inside with any mx-style 3 pin switch, or if there'd be limitations? Currently, I believe that with most switches I wouldn't get the shine-through, and that's fine with me. Would there be any other limitations to your knowledge? Thanks :)
