For about the past 2-3 months or so my Razer Blackwidow V4 %100 keyboard has been double typing keys for no reason. I’ve had this keyboard since late last year. At fiirst this problem only occured with the: F, T, O and P keys. Now it’s efffecting the: Space, I, and multiple other keys.
I’ve ttried everything I could think of, or saw on fourms/dicussions, such as takiing the keys ooff and cleaning the board, uninstalling/reinsttalling the synapse app, unplugging/replugging the keyboard in, reinstalling the drivers, updating the drivers, decreasing the polling rate etc. And nothing has worked yet. I’m only making this post as a last ditch effort to get some actual help with an actual solution because I have some very important projects that are password protected, not to mention in order to get into my computer I must put in a password.
So Ii assume you can understand how ffrustrating tthis can be when a problem like this ooccurs, and not even the brand themselves is doing anytthing about iit!
FYI: Any double typed letters or spaces are a result of my malffunctioning keyboard, I wiill not be atttempting to correct tthem anymore.
It has been reported over a year ago ..still no fix and not even sure that Razer acknowledge that there is a problem.
Yeah I even commented on that post…. *Sigh* Guess my ccry for help is falling on deaff ears?
So att this point even Razor themselves won’t even bother helping? Figures as much. Succh a scummy company! Looks like I’ll be buying anytthing BUT Razor produccts ffrom now on sadly. Tthanks for the heads up at least. Sad it took this long for soomeone to commentt.
Well i don’t own it .. i was looking to buy it and read in reviews about this issue so i came to the forums to see … well this keyboard would check every box for me but i will not play roulette because of this issue
Same issue here, with the same model. No change to polling rate reduction or hypershift mode, or, hilariously, closing Synapse, make any difference - nor should disabling features you paid for be a valid ‘fix’. The lack of patch or firmware to fix this issue and Razer’s inability or unwillingness to recognize a serious system problem with a product, effectively gaslighting their clientele, means no more Razer purchases for me, in perpetuity.

I’ve been having the exact same issues for the few months ive had this keyboard. I was able to temporarily fix the issue by buying different switches, but has been doulbe typing only a month in with the switches. for the love of god, i shouldnt and no one else should HAVE TO buy new switches. I cannot tell you how many posts, subreddits, threads, etc i have seen about people having this issue and not one of them has razer helped or been a part of in the discussion. Razer is just a novelty brand. They have nothing of value to offer compared to their competitors. This would be the last razer product I buy which is disappointing. I loved their previous keyboards, mice etc but their quality control is next to non-existent if this many people are having the same issues with their products. And I mean for the love of god, Razer could at least be on this shit and troubleshooting or in the least sending mfs another damn keyboard. I think what it was, is that they are trying to get rid of the faulty products to customers. Most customers won’t try to return it or use their warranty out of inconvenience and most likely buy another one or just move on. You’re absolutely right that razer is scummy, and none of you lot should get them another penny of your money.
The software does exactly what you would think..if your keyboard sends the same key within a certain time frame the additonal key presses are erased. I have my threshold set to 125ms and that has fixed the issue. Kinda sad we have to use something like this.

So I downloaded this and am now using it. Weather or not this works and is gonna be my long term fix, IDK as of yet. But thank you for this. And yes it is sad we have to rely on a 3rd party to fix something Razer themselves refuse to fix or even acknowledge! This is totally scummy IMO. But it’s what we get for letting this company get too big, abuse it’s customers, and get away with certain things.
So. This was an issue I had before. I bought this keyboard last October. I had the issue after a couple of months. I stopped using it, then I started using it again before summer, I the whole keyboard with FOUR completely difference switch (different brands, actuation weight, tactile/non-tactile) and I still reported issues after about a week or two. So it seems no matter what is done, the double-clicking comes back. Even after extensive testing right after swapping the switches.
Now, after many months I am testing the keyboard again as I have seen there have been a lot more threads about the matter and some firmware updates. So as of recent, Razer has finally addressed this, they stated that is has something to do with their Orange switches*. Initially, myself and others, have concluded that it may be a faulty board. That left us with almost nothing we could do. After researching a bit and seeing that they have dropped some firmware updates, I am testing again to see if there is a fix as I saw some recent posts saying they no longer are having any issues randomly.
I am going to be testing it for a bit, I just updated mine to type this us. Wish me luck. I am sure it'll start double clicking (main the S key for me, there are some other ones but S always starts acting up first) soon. I really like this keyboard. I have vowed to stop purchasing any Razer brands after the quality control on the DeathAdders went to shit and this keyboard was the final straw. All American BIG corporate brands are going down the drain with quality control. This is unacceptable. Even if it was a firmware bug it is still unacceptable being such a main-line keyboard and for this to have gone for so long at this scale.

Yup, I am done with Razer at this point. This keyboard has been by far the worst oneI have ever had because the keys do not work all the time, there is a lot of double typing issues, space bar double spaces, and I have tried over 50 fixes I have seenonline andIt still is having issues. No matter what Ihave tried, it jst doesnot work. Even looking at this repsonse I can seethe mistakes and I will not correct them. I just bought two new keyboards and justso Razer pays attention,I usuallyrecommend razer equipment for my clients and will no long er do that. Good luck and fix your shi*.
I’m currently on my seecond Blackwidow V4 (not 75%, nordic layout)
Returneed the first one due to multiplee keys double typing after a couple of months of use
The store I bought it from sent me a new onee and again after a couple of months of use the E key started double typing out of nowhere

RMA till you’ll get fixed/updated unit.
I feel like this is more of an issue with the keyboard itself than the software. I say this because I own a BlackWidow V4 Pro and this is happening with my S key. I think the solution is to remove the keycap and fiddle around with the switch by pressing it firmly and maybe cleaning the cap. That seemed to work for me.

It’s a switch issue to be more specific.
You can try pour few drops of Isopropyl alcohol into the switch, press it few times, then wait till it evaporate. If this not help - then RMA it.
I haven’t tried that yet, but I did figure out that if I just plugged my keyboard out and back in again, the s key stops double pressing. Although, I ought to try the alcohol too, Thanks.
I have tried same “Keyboard chattering fix” 3rd party tool in order to fix this “chattering” which Razer has not provided any effective support, and it seemed like fixed for a while, but the chattering occured once again after circa 3 months. Razer has not shown any will to fix this problem but is busy to hide the problem by silence. It is hardly thinkable that such an expensive keyboard has critical problem. How could 230$ keyboard have chattering issue which even 20$ does not have?
So I decided that I’m not going to purchase any products from Razer anymore. They’re selling products as if they’re perfect gear for gaming-but in real, filled with faults, hiding them by design.
So, I received my third Razer Blackwidow V4 yesterday. Already experienced at least one instance of double type but am unable to intentionally replicate it (yet).
I also have the problem with double tapping on several keys. I tired everything from updating the firmware to removing they switches, cleaning them, even replacing them. Doesn´t work. On my F1 key sometimes its double tapping, sometimes it doesnt recognize any input.
It started on Shift and CTRL as well as on WASD what is really annoying in games. The problem that i have with RMAs is that the process is such a pain and takes way too long. It seems like this is a knwon problem since at least Blackwidow v3 and yet there was another version released without actually fixing the problem.
Also: what if the problem comes up again and again? Should i send my keyboard for RMA every 2 months? That doesn´t make sense to me.
Why is there no official statement from Razer when this is clearly an issue that affects multiple Blakwidow versions and users?

After 2 years of putting my Razer Black Widow 2 TE into the store. Today i felt like trying to give it a try by plugging it in and test out double typing. After a firmware update and also updating synapse. Everything seems to be back to normal. So it seems that Razer DID fix the problem. Hopefully i could continue to use this keyboard normally for a few more years.
Third Blackwidow V4 broke down, ff key double types and it also can’t be held down reliably.
Worked more or less perfectly for two months. Can’t say I was surprised when it stopped working.
Nah, the problems just comes back in, guys either use the keyboard chattering fix or just change another more reliable product brand, ive given up on razer from this point and now on.
