Razer Cynosa Chroma C key / Alt key - Common Issue! | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Hello!

I’ve had my Razer Cynosa Chroma for a few years now, it’s faithfully worked and has been a great addition to my setup. Recently, without provocation, the C key stopped working almost entirely. The C key will activate each of the ALT keys (as seen in the on screen keyboard). The Alt keys work fine by themselves and when pressed do nothing to/with the C key. This makes the C key unusable which I’m sure as you can imagine is a huge issue. It is not a hardware issue, I’ve opened it and cleaned it and it’s been taken care of well. If it were a hardware issue the ALT key would not be activated (both of them) when pressing the C key, to please do not blanketly tell me this and that my warranty is out of date and to kick rocks (basically, be a halfway decent company).

I’m not the only one with this issue. Several forums (reddit and this one as well) are littered with the Cynosa Chroma having this exact issue with the C key. It is clearly an issue with the make/model that has not been addressed/fixed-at least not publicly. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, tried it on 2 additional PCs (one of which was a MAC) and nothing, still the same issue. I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Razer software as well-to no avail. I even tried to assign C as a macro for C (did not work). Additionally, it is not a hardware issue as when I open up my command prompt the C key works. It is clearly an issue with the integrated software of the keyboard and a fix would be extremely beneficial. If this goes unresolved-I will no longer be purchasing Razer products or be encouraging my community/friends/family to purchase them as I have in the past. Please, help. I’ve watched so many similar posts go literally ignored by Razer Staff.

Hi, just adding a reply here as I am having the same issue.  Would really like if this could get some attention and/or a legitimate fix.
