Razer PBT keycap upgrade set worth it for a Blackwidow keyboard?
Hello, I have a Blackwidow Chroma X in Mercury White and I was wondering what is the difference between the OEM keys and PBT upgrade set? I noticed some of the keys with multiple designs actually allow the light to pass through both patterns (I literally have no idea what to call them lol). Other than that I know the material of the caps are different but how about the amount of light that passes through the keys? Will the sound of the keys change when pressed? Thanks for the help.

IMO it's worth upgrade to Razer PBT's. More solid than stock BW Chroma X keycaps.
And also you have backlight on the special characters on the number row.

The upgrade is great!
The PBT keycaps have a sort of grippy text to them compared to the original smooth glossy feeling on the original keycaps.
I've noticed a sound difference especially where there's a compromise of more sound meaning more of a satisfying feel when tapping on the keys on the keyboard.
The light shines pretty well (in my opinion) but I think this is just quite similar to the original keycaps and depends on the lighting you have on your chroma settings. The HyperX Pudding Keycaps probably do look better but I avoided it due to it not having my keyboard layout in the UK.
The price it's ok and I regret not getting it at first when going to the Razer Store but found a opportunity by earning Razer Silver.
I own the Blackwidow Elite with orange switches.

Awesome thanks, I have been looking at the HyperX pudding caps but I'm not sure if they will fit on a Razer keyboard. I tried to look deeper into the custom keyboard market and I left with my head spinning lol.
I got the PBT keycaps for my Huntsman Elite and I like them quite a bit. The biggest difference is how they feel under your fingers, not as slick or prone to polishing as typical ABS keycaps. I didn't notice any change to the amount of light or the sound of the keyboard. For more light you can use pudding keycaps, Razer doesn't offer them yet but some brands have a translucent ABS base that is much brighter than a traditional keycap with a doubleshot PBT top so you get the nice finger feel and glow-through symbols.
