Razor Keyboards and KVM Switches - "sticking"

I tried to search but since KVM isn't long enough for a search term, I tried KVM sticking, KVM switch, etc. and I only get results for the second word. So if this is repetitive, I apologize.

Bottom line, I am currently using a Huntsman. I don't remember the model of my last Razor keyboard. I had the same issue with that last one that I do with this one. I thought it was the keyboard so I tossed it and bought new. This has also happened with multiple KVM switches.

I have my personal PC and my work laptop connected to a KVM switch so I can use same mouse/keyboard/dual monitors. When I switch to my work laptop (can't install Razor software), the keyboard works like a keyboard. When I switch back to my personal PC, it freezes, sticks on a key, acts sluggish. Sometimes unplugging it will work, but only for a short time. Ultimately I need to reboot my personal PC. But as soon as I KVM to work, the problem resurfaces.

I tried my son's Logitech keyboard several times. It doesn't happen.

I love the Razor product line. I'd much rather have a fix than give up.

This has happened on multiple computers (win 10 and 11) with two different KVM switches and two different Razor keyboards.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Be sure, that KVM is giving enough power through USB port to the keyboard(s) - Huntsman is power hungry because Chroma & optical switches.
Btw. What KVMs are you using?

It is. It works perfectly fine when I am switched to the work laptop.
I can restart both systems. Keyboard works fine on my personal system. Switch to work system, it works perfectly fine. Switch back to personal and it flakes out. Without restarting anything, I switch to work system and it works perfectly fine. Back and forth I can repeat this problem between work and personal PCs. It works 100% perfect 100% of the time on the work computer. It only works right after a reboot of the personal PC. Once I switch, it's sticking until the next reboot.

The difference?
Personal PC has the Synapse program and every time a drive is updated, I need to restart anyways.
Work PC - no synapse program and the drivers never update.

It's not the KVM switches (of which I've used several, the current one with the blue USB slots).

This is also happening to me, running Windows on multiple KVM devices. I thought it was power related but three of my colleagues with the exact same setup aren't having this issue. I've tried many things, registry cleaning, removing all the Razer software, changing the driver to a generic Microsoft driver, nothing seems to help. If I use any other keyboard then it all works just fine, but I DON'T want to use another keyboard, I want to use my Green Switch keyboard.

Please, can anyone offer any advice on how to fix this.

Same here, I need help with this too, have anyone find a solution? a better switch with external power? ryzen driver cleanup? throw my razer periferics to the trash can?

Has anyone found a solution to this? I’m also running into this issue and it’s driving me nuts. I love razor products but… it’s useless when it only works on one computer.

Same here, but the opposite way - my Razer Deathadder V3 Pro works perfectly with my private PC and if switched from work to private PC. But once switched from private to work - it losing the connection and nothing helps. Just bought it instead of my Logitech, that did the job perfectly, so totally disappointed. I am using an MSI Optix monitor with the built-in KVM.

Btw, works fine in wired mode.

Anybody can help?

Hi Iam very sad and have the same Problem.

I have the Razer Basilisk v3 pro and use the dongle at the monitor kvm switch (Philips 279M1RV) after I switch to the other computer the mouse do not work anamore. Just when I reconnect the dongle the mouse starts working again. So the dongle has a problem with the KVM switch.

in wired mode the mouse works but that is not a solution for wireless mous.

realy sad that there is no solution after two years :(

so I have to ship the mouse back to store

just a short update maybe someone will help this:

i put to the KVM an additional usb Hub und put there the dongle in. Than the dongle works while switching the devices. It should look like that the usb hub hold some Energie some seconds and keeps the dongle active.

for me this is still no solution and I will ship the mouse back to the store. Next try with the Basilisk V4 :(

For the Huntsman, there is a firmware update available which might help. Updating to Firmware v1.02.00_r1 could potentially solve random ghost/phantom key-presses.

Same issues with the Level1Techs KVM which is the golden standard most reliable and unobtrusive KVM. Synapse itself is enough of a mess, but as stated by everyone else these keyboards lose their minds when going through a KVM. This was the final straw, I returned my unopened Leviathan V2 Pro. I can’t buy any more Razer products until I hear that Synapse is fixed and that their peripherals aren’t completely hampered by proprietary nonsense. At least Corsair has a BIOS mode that forces basic drivers and HID. These keyboards and mice are so non-standard I chased down over a dozen Razer drivers to troubleshoot this setup. Unacceptable.
