Using naga trinity and huntsman v2 tkl. Looking for a kvm.

It sounds like you are in search of a KVM switch that will allow your Naga Trinity and Huntsman V2 TKL to function fully between your working PC and gaming computer. Unfortunately, it seems that your current KVM switch is not working correctly with your keyboard. You are wondering if there are other users who have had success using a Huntsman on a KVM USB switch. I suggest trying to find a KVM switch that specifically states it is compatible with gaming keyboards or contacting the manufacturer of your current KVM switch to see if there is a solution to the keyboard issue.

The problem with KVMs are that they’re mostly causing problems with gaming peripherals. I’d search for KVM with external power supply, but overall I don’t recommend KVM at all - more problems, than benefits.

I pretty much have to use a KVM.  Work is forcing us to use work hardware to VPN in, and so cant use personal equipment.

Other than having two keyboards and two mice, whcih my desk doesnt have room for, I need a KVM.

Synapse doesnt ID my mouse or KB anymore.  I can use openRGB to for the lighting on the KB, but lost my side buttons on the Naga Trinity and the macro keys on my Blackwidow kb.

Anyone know how to get access to these without Synapse?

KVMs are generally a matter of utility; not personal preference. Unless you’re cool with a mess on your desk and/or love swapping cables... KVMs become a necessity.

@Peyoteboy KVMs are a PIA for those of us with gaming keyboards and mice specifically because the USB keyboard protocol is limited to 6 keys pressed simultaneously + 3 modifier keys. To bypass this limitation, some keyboards report to the computer as a USB hub with multiple keyboards connected to it.

SO… if you are like me and have 5 computers on your desk (3 from clients + 1 from the home office + 1 personal gaming rig) you should be looking for a KVM Switch that specifically supports “direct pass through” from keyboard and/or mouse USB to active computer.

Read the specs. The clowns on Amazon will advertise “supports gaming keyboards” all day long. Which means literally nothing unless your specific make and model is explicitly supported (for the reasons stated above).

Any possibility that you share the kvm that you use? I’ve searched for quite some hours now, but did not find sny ‘direct pass through’ kvms. And I was so happy when my kvm arrived this evening. Didn’t last long tho.
