Following from the follow thread /yellow-vs-orange-switches.48571/#post-489675 For me keyboard switch is like a tool that serve its purpose when using the keyboard. I'm a typist and an average gamer Go to RAZER website to find out about the RAZER switches There is opto-mechanial switches, which I have never used before so I cannot review myself personally. I believe everyone has their preferred choice of favorite switch. For me. Green; ever since IBM M keyboard, the clicky noise has become a trend or fashion for mechanical keyboards, but that trend sure is noisy and causes distraction to others, especially in office environment. My former work boss advised me to remove it and I'm not working for that boss ever again. Yellow is great for gaming for faster response in terms of depth pressed, it is that advantage which is also a disadvantage for me when it comes to typing. Orange and Green do not respond faster, which allows me to react quicker before I mistype. My preferred choice is Orange, it is silent and delivers tactile bump of every key press. For me orange has that good balance of both gaming and writing.

As per title states it

I'm changing the title from "favorite switch" to "favorite mechanical switch" Over the years RAZER have produced many keyboard designs with various switch options. Not just the green, orange and yellow, but also chiclet as well. If anyone wants to share their opinion on other switches, Cherry MX or chiclet, love to hear it

I have Razer greens, which I love for their clicky sound. BUT I'm very curious about Razer Red, need to test them :) BTW. Some time ago Razer announced, that it will be possible to buy switches separately. But I never seen it online.

You talking about customizing your own switches? that will be a next marketing expansion for RAZER.

Tactile feeling is always good. The origins of mechanical keys

Does anyone still have or use the IBM M keyboard? The father of mechanical switches.

I think you will like the purple opto-mechanical switch also. Which comes with clicky feature

Currently yellows, but I voted red as that looks like the upgraded version of it but still similar. Hoping that the Huntsman Elite or another new keyboard comes with the reds soon!

Definitely Opto-Mechanical ones. Voted for both Purple and Red Opto-Mechanical switches. RELIABILITY of a switch is most important thing for me. Opto-Mechanical switches are immune to chatter due to their "contactles" design.

I used to learn programming on an IBM PC with a Model M keyboard back in year 1989 in my father's government office. I was 14 years old then. Since then I have used many keyboards including my very own Model M and various cheap membrane keyboards also. Nowadays I am using Razer Hunstman keyboard for ultimate reliability.

They always have a special place in my heart. But times have changed, our needs changed.. We got bored also using the same thing over and over again etc.. :) Nowadays I think I can live without them.

I used to love the greens, but now I'm all about the Orange switches. I'm crossing my fingers for an opto-mechanical version. I wonder what color it would be?

Am I being superstitious? Why do I feel like this is a spoiler alert? If I had to choose a colour, I would like to choose "Blue"

Tested it, and liked. But probably my next keyboard will be on some silent, lineal switch (mechanical yellow or new optical Razer Red)
