Basilisk X Hyperspeed mouse not connecting to computer | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hello Support Team,

I purchased a new Razer Basilisk X Hyper speed mouse on 5 days ago. The mouse often falls asleep or loses connection to my computer after a few second of laying idle. Once the mouse goes idle, it does not re-awaken automatically, requiring me to fiddle around with trying to turn it back on (i.e. flipping the power switch or unplugging and re-plugging the usb doggle), Furthermore, when my computer last fell asleep, the mouse would not reconnect at all when the computer turned back on. I've tried turning it off & on, unplugging and re-plugging the usb doggle, and changing the batteries. Sometimes these methods work, but more often they do not.

I've already tried disabling Synapse and uninstalling the mouse drivers per the instructions in this thread. It made no difference.

What can I do for my mouse to automatically re-connect to my computer without the additional hassle? When my mouse goes idle, what is typically to be done to re-awaken my mouse?

Thank you for your help.
I have the same problem!

Same problem right here, sent a ticket to Razer support they just ignored me funny company IMO.
Same problem here. Just got a few days ago. Also Black Widow V3 Pro seems to do the same but I think it reconnects quicker. Almost $400 and these problems??? I am using both dongles btw. Mouse seems to "blink" then disconnects. This sucks. All firmware and drivers updated. Called tech support ..they had me try on another PC. Yes it worked fine...for 160 seconds. Uninstalled Xtra software. Nothing. Going to uninstall Synapse and reboot. Otherwise.. reinstall wireless $10 Logitech mouse my grandma gave me that works flawless.
I got into contact with razer support through live chat and they actually sent me a brand new mouse so you can try that just he whole process lasted about 2 weeks or something like that, so if you have the willpower for it try it.

.... And.. does it seem "fixed"? If so, for how long have you been using it? Perhaps I will try if your having continued success with replacement...
Full honesty, no. I mean the disconnect issue still happens but rarer (in the 2 days I've had it happen once) than on the old one and it fixes easier, just a battery in and out fixes it but still does happen. I guess you can always try to get a new one if it is under warranty and since their products are pricey it is really annoying having this dumb problem.

It seems uninstalling Synapse may have solved it...FOR NOW. Now I have half the product I paid for. I may just ask to return for full refund.
