Alright so I make the colors the rainbow effect I save it then I plug it back into my Xbox and it just makes it go back in to the default color which is bland

You need synapse to make that work bro.

It's not possible, lightning effects only load with Synapse, so if you plug your keyboard to other PC or Xbox (without synapse) it will be at default color.
