dpi button on basilisk x hyperspeed not lighting up

I recently got a basilisk x hyperspeed, worked great for like a month or so, then it kept randomly turning off (I assume) which meant that I had to reinsert batteries. However, a week or so ago, it just broke and now I can't get a response out of it, putting in new batteries doesn't do anything, and the dpi button won't even light up anymore.
