I have been using the Razer Naga lightspeed v2 and I have enjoying it. However I have really been looking for a lighter weight MMO style mouse (that you could use for fps and other games) and I feel Razer could do a really good job at it.
Current Options
At the moment you have < 55g lightweight esports mouse and then the heavy weight Naga (even with the lightspeed it is 110g after including a AAA battery) and not that much in between in terms of side buttons (the basilisk only have 3, doesn’t really count).
I don’t there is any strong competition in this space. Closet would the SteelSeries Aerox 9 but SteelSeries QC issues and still a little heavy or the Glorious Model I 2 but the layout of the side buttons is not ideal and it has reported connectivity/battery), the closest would be mouse with below average side button layouts or be too heavy.
Hybrid Naga / Viper
I think you could take the 6 button variant of the naga pro v2
- Remove the magnet swap to save weight
- Consider making the side buttons lower profile
- Remove the dpi buttons on the top left of the left click
- Include the scroll wheel from the viper to save weight
- No RGB
- Remove wireless charging to save weight
With the aim to have ~75g wireless rechargeable mouse with 6 useful positioned side buttons that is a perfect hybrid between an MMO mouse and an fps mouse.
I am not sure if there is a market for such a mouse but I for one am looking for it.
Does anyone else like this idea?
