razer basilisk v3 (wired) keeps freezing

i got a razer basilisk v3 for christmas last year and really enjoyed it

but then a few days ago it just randomly started to freeze

Usually the first thing to do is see if there is a firmware update to do and apply to the device... so did you check the support page for the device to check for the latest firmware? Sometimes/usually Razer fixes issues like this with the latest firmware revisions.

When and if in doubt if you have the latest firmware flashed to the device, just download the firmware updater program anyways and it will run a simple check when you run it.

i did reinstall razer software, wouldn’t that also update the firmware?

No, Synapse does not update the firmware, because the firmware is separate from the Synapse software altogether. You have to go to the mouse’s support page to download the firmware updater so it can check if you have the latest firmware flashed to the device, and if an update is required it will force you to flash it.
