Razer DeathAdder V2 HyperSpeed: Buttons Work but No Cursor Movement After Re-Pairing (Firmware Issue?)

I’m having an issue with my Razer DeathAdder V2 HyperSpeed that I haven’t been able to resolve.

The mouse suddenly stopped working properly — I can’t move the cursor at all. I tried re-pairing it with the USB dongle using the Razer Mouse Pairing software, and while the pairing process completed successfully, the problem persists.

Right now, the buttons on the mouse still work, but there’s no cursor movement being detected.

At this point, I suspect it might be a firmware-related issue. Would anyone happen to have access to an older firmware version or know how I could downgrade the firmware on this mouse?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hello catmuf,

I understand that you're having an issue with your Razer DeathAdder V2 X HyperSpeed where the cursor is not moving. To isolate the issue, please allow me to ask a few question below:

  • Did the issue start before or after you re-paired the mouse with the USB dongle?
  • Have you tried using the mouse on a different surface or mouse pad?
  • If possible, have you tested it on another computer to see if the same behavior happens there?
  • Have you checked the sensor area to make sure it’s clean and free from dust or debris?
  • Does the issue persist without the Raze Synapse installed in your computer?

In the meantime, kindly try the troubleshooting in the article to fix the mouse cursor issue. If the same problem occurs, PM me with the device serial number and proof of purchase. I’d appreciate it if your could also share a short video showing the issue so I can take a closer look. Save the shareable files via any online drive account listed here. All the best!
