Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro - Random Disconnects After Firmware Update

Hello everyone,

I've been using my Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro since purchasing it in 2021, and I absolutely love it. The quality is outstanding, it fits my hand perfectly, and the convenience of the 7-button layout has kept me from switching to any other mouse for a long time.

However, two weeks ago, after updating the firmware to the latest version, I've started experiencing random disconnection issues between the mouse and my computer. Specifically, when using it in 2.4GHz mode, the cursor freezes unexpectedly, and clicks do not respond.

I've tried several troubleshooting steps:

  • Used the tools provided by Razer to uninstall all drivers.
  • Reinstalled the firmware.
  • Resynced the mouse with the dongle using the syncing tool.
  • Reinstalled Razer Synapse.
  • Performed a factory reset following the manual.

Despite all these efforts, the problem continues to occur.

The exact issue is that the cursor randomly freezes during use in 2.4GHz mode, and mouse clicks are unresponsive. Turning the mouse off and then back on in 2.4GHz mode reconnects it, and it works again until the next freeze, which happens at random intervals without any specific pattern.

My mouse battery is charged over 90%, and I've set the low power mode to activate after 15 minutes (the maximum setting).

It's becoming difficult to continue using a mouse that freezes unexpectedly during games. While I've considered switching to another mouse, I'm very attached to my Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any suggestions on how to fix it? I'd really appreciate any help to resolve this problem.

Thank you!

Similar problem with Basilisk but they gave a single F about it. xD
You will hear only to reset mouse and reinstall synapse, in the best case - just they’ll give You code to buy something new. :)
The best idea is just try to open it and look what causing a problem, in my situation scroll wheel for some reason don’t want to work properly. If You can’t find solution with support, change company. :(

I contacted them, and They told me to ship in my old mouse and they would have a look at it. If there was a problem, they would repair it for free :)

(it has been almost 2 years since I bought it)

Nice one. I’m out of their repair zone. :( Also You have warranty i guess. :3

Replying to this to boost as I’ve had the same issue.

I was initially thinking hardware failure but to see the same model having the same issues within the same timeframe leads me to believe this is a software issue.

Hopefully Razer will see this post  and acknowledge there is a freezing issue with the DA V2 Pro.

After a long email exchange with them, the conclusion was that they couldn't be directly involved since the warranty had expired, and they stated that it was most likely a battery issue. Although very disappointing, I repurchased it as I couldn't find a viable alternative on the market

I find that explanation dubious as it works fine in Bluetooth mode.   It’s the hyperspeed dongle that is causing an issue.

Nevertheless, I will continue to search for a solution.   The DA V2 is unfortunately one of a kind.

I have the same issue. It is most likely a dongle issue or a firmware one. I emailed support and they sent me a new dongle and it fixed the issue after pairing it with my mouse (it took many efforts) for a couple months. Now I have the same issue again. It seems to be some sort of a firmware/software issue IMO, as it could be due to Windows update perhaps. I sent them a ticket, but this is unacceptable as you are paying premium price for a premium product that should work flawlessly for many years to come.
