Razer Naga V2 Scroll Wheel Settings Issue

During my trip to London, I purchased a Razer Naga V2 Pro mouse with 12 side buttons and a replaceable side panel. I am attaching the purchase receipt.

After setting up the mouse, I configured all my settings through Razer Synapse. Initially, the device worked flawlessly. The scroll wheel's stiffness/sensitivity settings also applied correctly at the beginning.

However, after some use, only the scroll wheel settings become disabled. The scroll wheel becomes loose, as if it's spinning freely, and the stiffness/sensitivity settings I made through Synapse are no longer applied. Despite this, all other functions of the mouse work normally. The side buttons, main buttons, and macros are fine. The problem only occurs with the scroll wheel settings.

To resolve this problem, I have tried the following:

- Uninstalling the Razer Synapse application.
- Uninstalling the relevant drivers.
- Reinstalling Razer Synapse.
- Reconfiguring the mouse settings.
- I tested the device in both wired and 2.4 GHz wireless modes.

After these tests, the settings initially seem to work again. Specifically, when switching from 2.4 GHz wireless to wired mode, or back to wireless, the scroll wheel settings are temporarily restored. However, after a while, the same problem reappears, and the scroll wheel settings become disabled again.

Currently, the mouse generally works properly, except for the scroll wheel issue. Because the problem is temporarily resolved when I change the connection mode, I can't definitively determine whether the problem is hardware-related, firmware-related, or related to Razer Synapse/software.

I would appreciate your support in determining the cause of this problem and how to resolve it. If necessary, I would also appreciate guidance regarding device replacement, warranty procedures, or further technical checks

Hello CagdasDemiroglu,

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Based on what you described, the issue appears to be isolated to the scroll wheel resistance or sensitivity behavior, while the rest of the mouse continues to function normally. Since the setting works again temporarily after switching between wired and 2.4 GHz wireless modes, this may point to either a Synapse or firmware issue or a possible issue with the mouse’s scroll wheel mechanism. To help us isolate the problem, could you please confirm the following:

-Does the issue happen on only one PC, or have you tested the mouse on another computer?

-Is the mouse running on the latest firmware?

-When the issue happens, does it improve if Razer Synapse is closed and reopened?

-Does the problem return even when the mouse is used in wired mode only?

-Are you connecting the wireless dongle directly to the PC and not through a USB hub?

Please also try these steps if you have not already:

  1. Make sure Razer Synapse, the mouse firmware, and your operating system are fully updated
  2. Test the mouse on another PC to check whether the same scroll wheel behavior appears there
  3. Connect the device directly to the computer
  4. Test the mouse in wired-only mode for a longer period
  5. Test again with Synapse closed/disabled and then after reopening it
  6. Remove any other non-essential peripherals temporarily to rule out USB or device conflicts

If the same issue persist, please PM me your mouse serial number, proof of purchase and a short video showing the scroll wheel behavior. Upload it to Google Drive, and set it to "Public" or “Anyone Who Has The Link” so we can access the file. All the best!
