Razer Viper Ultimate Firmware update not letting me update through USB Cable

CarnationPinkwatchbit258

I am trying to download the v1.07.00_r1 firmware update. I was able to do the first stage which was updating through the wireless dongle but when trying to “Connect the mouse you your PC with the supplied USB cable”, the “UPDATE” button will not light green. I am using the supplied USB cable and I have tried every iteration I could, from restarting the updater to using different USB ports for both the dongle and the wire. How do I resolve this issue?

My RVU has been having battery issues. This isn’t the first time either. It’s not charging above 3% and dies near instantly after being off charge. Hoping this firmware update fixes it.

Firmware update won’t help here - it won’t magically increase battery size.

For the FW update issue I’d try different computer (without synapse installed etc).

Appreciate the condescending comment. Seems like just the first update has fixed the issue of the battery percentage not going past 3%. Can’t believe an update can make the battery bigger!

Is there any information on what the latter part of the update does? Any documents would be helpful because if its nothing too important, I’d rather not have to find another computer to finish the installation. Thanks!

For firmware there’s always changelog what they’ve changed/fixed: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4581

For Synapse, changelog is always the same “General bug fixes & improvements). The battery indicator bug was a Synapse one, but you could charge mouse at its full capacity (and synapse always showed some lower indicator).

But if your mouse is left for charging for a few hours, and it’s instantly dying, then it’s physical battery fault.
