Viper Ultimate dock not charging when PC off | Razer Insider

Hi guys! I just bought a Viper Ultimate and I'm extremely happy with it!

I've read that the dock doesn't charges while the PC is off, and I'm also experiencing it (I have power on USB setting ON in bios, LEDs and stuff are working, normal wired charging works too).

Do you know any workaround for this?

Could an external powered USB Hub help it?

I personally use a $10 4-port USB 3.0 usb HUB made by Sabrent, (they also make an 8port and possibly a 10 or 15 port as well) but make sure you get the version that comes with the 5V outlet plug in since many mechanical keyboards, usb external hard drives, etc require more power than what a regular USB 3.0 port can handle. It's super convenient for charging things and for PC use as each USB port has its on individual toggle button so you can leave things plugged in but if you don't want something powered on or to be detected by your PC you can just press the button next to the port. (And the buttons have a blue LED outlining the button when it is pressed in and active and then the LED turns off when you press it again to turn off that individual port)

Also as far as your BIOS settings, my ASUS mobo I personally use has USB ports that are red in color ( as opposed to black or blue) that are made for charging things and keeping them charging while your PC is off. Make sure you have the latest version of firmware for your Mobo, then make sure you are enabling and using the USB ports you enabled to stay on. And last but not least install all the chipset drivers for your motherboard on the mobo manufacturer website. I know ASUS AI Charger let's you change the voltage, and tweak those USB port settings. (Without even turning my voltage up those specific red USB ports on my mobo makes the RGB diffuser and per key backlight in one of my Massdrop ALT high profile mech keyboard so much brighter, but anyways depending on the manufacturer of your mobo they could be yellow or orange etc)
