When lighting is turned off on the mouse - which is required for optimal battery life - the mouse no longer gives a charging status indicator - i would think that even though lighting is disabled in general use there would at least be the option to have the mouse light indicate charging status as it does when lighting is left on - lighting on = less the optimal battery life.
