You'll know when an update is available via the forums.
Know what's funny my AT&T RP2 received Dec security patch on Christmas Eve and I haven't read about it any where. Lol.

I would love some response from razer people to give us time frame

  • January 22, 2019
is there any time frame on receiving android 9 update?

Hold on...let me check for updates... Nope, still on 8.1 MR2.

Software updates for this phone is a complete joke, we should have had better road map of updates.

Whats the latest security patch on the global razer phone 2? I haven't got any updates since i purchased the phone. My security patch is 5th October 2018

So long between updates and such a terrible overall device (fast, but shit) that I'm pretty sure this is the last razer phone I'll buy. :/

Thank God I got this device for cheap, this year I'll move on from this crappy smartphone.

Whats cralpc or shit about it? I know the updates are slow but i love the phone overall. It's got a great display, great speakers and a decent battery life.. i don't have anything to complain about.. i love the stock android feel..

Good:
  • Stock-ish Android
  • Good Speakers
  • Battery life is good
  • Supplied charger is pretty fast
  • 120Hz display
  • Bluetooth audio isn't terrible and mostly works
  • Great ram and CPU
  • Good fingerprint sensor
  • Quite a nice design
Shit:
  • Not waterproof in a country that's 99% water all the time. I get the speakers would suffer, but I can count on one hand the amount of times I've really wanted to use speakers.
  • No headphone jack - yeah, there's an adapter but that's a pain if you're out and about
  • Slow software updates
  • Really, really, really abysmal camera. It's what a lot of folk use most on their phones and this one may as well not have a camera
  • Pretty shit call quality and connection
  • Occasionally mediocre 4G
  • No wireless charging (yeah, it's the case)
  • Front grilles are a bit naff (think they're glued on) and can pick up dirt and stuff which can be bloody hard to get out.
  • Green logo on the 'special edition' is basically a bloody sticker
  • Screen's a bit shit on the three days per year with bright sunlight
  • Wifi can be absolute bullshit on it

Except for the headphone jack (not an issue for me as I use Bluetooth headphones) and the speaker grille collecting dust, I have none of those issues with the Razer Phone 2. They have fixed most of them. :)

The Razer Phone 2 is unconventional and that's exactly why I love it. If you are looking for a copy cat phone that's been done over and over again, then this is not the phone for you. You would be better off with a Samsung or Pixel phone. I use my Razer Phone 2 as my daily driver and overall I am satisfied. My wife on the other hand looks at my phone and doesn't understand why I love it so much so it all depends on your perspective.

My GF is the same she doesn't see why I like the phone due to the asthetics but I love it and since the RP1 I haven't moved on to another brand. Razer listened to all the feedback about the first one and made the 2nd so much better. As a message to everyone else - I'm gathering your feedback and passing it on but try to cut down on the language a little bit. I know it can be annoying not knowing what's going on I honestly do and im fighting for you as much as possible. However if you ever have any issues/personal feedback reach out to me via PM and I'll be more than happy to help or pass on the feedback.
