Why extenal USB c adapter keeps disconnecting I tried 3 otg cable none of them worked right

I've had a similar problem of cables not working, but for me it seems to be an overloaded cable. The cables can handle only do much going through them and some of the adapters I've used are a little too powerful for some of my cables, and now they don't work for anything.
I think it's software issue with Android 8.1
