Atmos on ringtones

I got a Razer Phone 2 yesterday and I just now tried to set a custom ringtone. It sounds kind of tinny compared to playing the song in a music player. Sure enough, if I turn off "dolby atmos" while playing music, it sounds just like the ringtone (which is of course the same file). I suspect the built-in ringtones have the atmos effect "baked in" to the recording, and perhaps I could do the same somehow for my own sounds.

Any way I can get the thicc beats even when the phone is ringing?

I'm sorry but this is going to be off topic rant for people that may find this thread in the future. I've already returned this phone.

"your phone is up to date" what kind of hot mess is this, it's stuck in feburary! You've got to be squidding me!

That, and the fact that headphone audio sounds like ass (SBC codec only??!) means this ride was over quickly:

I see the xperia 1 has put the fingerprint back where it belongs, like the razer phone and my Xc and XZ1c of yore. That means I think I have another phone to try. Not really a fan of my current XZ2c for reasons I can't quite put my finger on. I was certainly smitten by the large screen of the Razer, always preferring the "compact" models in the past. I know for sure my next phone will be a standard size, now.
