Audio clipping/distortion when taking videos

After being on iPhone for years I've never had a problem taking videos of live music where it totally messes up the audio. Currently own a Razer Phone 2 and any band I go see and record a small video, even when it's not particularly loud, I go to watch the video after and the audio is clipping everywhere and completely unlistenable. Is this a common issue with the Razer Phone 2? Is there anyway around it or am I stuck with it being unlistenable when I take a video?
