QUESTION: Is it possible to turn the original v.1 Razer Phone into a 120hz gaming monitor?

As the title says, I want to not just game via the phone, but actually use my PC and use the phone as my 120hz monitor. The application is a super tight spot that needs a small screen, and I thought this would be great. I've seen USB-C to displayport/hdmi converters, but those usually work in the opposite way of sending the phone info to a monitor, not a PC's info to the phone display. Thanks for any help or point in the direction of software that provides this capability.

This isn't a feature built into Android nor the phone and would most likely require third-party apps to work. Will be moving this to the Mobile boards, maybe the community can help you out. As a word of precaution though, rooting will be considered as unauthorized modification and will void your RP1's warranty.

I haven't looked into in on Android yet, but I know that Apple/iPad have similar capabilities, and that's with a third-party app and the iPad Lightining-USB A cable. Do a quick google search and you might find some answers and options that could utilize a USB C - USB A cable. There probably wouldn't be an issue about information flow direction, since you can DEFINITELY use such a cable to transfer files and other such data to the phone from a computer. As far as the full 120Hz refresh rate, though, that might be a different story. It could be dependent on whatever the third-party software developer allows for. Good luck, and happy hunting! **A bit later** Yeah, so most of those links are to software that maxes out at 60Hz FHD. I'm definitely going to keep my eyes open for a 120Hz answer.

Warranty?! Lol, I think the least of us Razer 1 owners have to worry about is a warranty on a device sitting on last July's security patch.
