Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL - Passthrough Charging Does Not Work - any idea's???

Hi all

Just bought a Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL, and have found that the passthrough charging does not work at all.

Looked it up, found hundreds of people mentioning the same issue across many models of Razer mobile controllers.

I can disconnect the controller from the tablet, plug the USB cable into the controller, and then plug the tablet back into the controller and it will work. But this is NOT passthrough charging and not a practical solution. Also, as soon as you disconnect the cable you’d have to repeat the process every time.

I’ve tried various cables and chargers of various power, I’ve downloaded the Razer Kishi app today and that does nothing to fix it.

The passthrough charging was one of the key features I wanted in my upgrade over a controller from another brand. So it’s very important to me.

It’s a listed feature, it should work. I’m about to send this back for a refund but thought I’d post here first before I do.

Not sure there is a solution because so many people are reporting the same issue on many Razer devices.

All help appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi apeshot

I can see why you wanted o return it back and ask for a refund. You’re right. Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL has a built-in USB-C passthrough charging port Allow me to help you out. To trigger pass-through charging on the Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL is to plug the USB-C power cable into the controller before mounting or connecting your tablet. If issue persists,  PM me your Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL’s SN: (Follow steps here: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/548/~/how-to-find-the-serial%2C-product%2C-or-part-number-on-a-razer-device) and link of your receipt in a PDF format: (Save the shareable files via any online drive account listed here: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4011?_ga=2.197232171.544708261.1744067200-1885068520.1744067200&_gl=1*vo487o*_ga_3TRK53PM75*MTc0NDA2NzE5OS4xLjEuMTc0NDA2NzM0My4yNC4wLjA). Yes, as I mentioned I tried connecting the usb cable to the controller and then attaching the tablet - and this worked.

However, when you unplug the usb cable and plug it back it it does NOT initiate the charging again. And so you have to disconnect the tablet and repeat the process every single time - which is not a practical solution (i.e. I might as well just disconnect the tablet and charge it separately every time).

I expected and paid for usb passthrough charging, and I’m not getting it. And Googling this issue comes up with hundreds of people reporting the same issue across many different Razer Kishi models - and so I’m definitely not alone on this.
