Hi All,

My phone is stock (not messed with) and has been fine until tonight. I put in on charge with the stock charger and cable, and i looked own an hour later and it was off. Now it wont switch on. Is there anything i can do to get it back on? Im puzzled. The phone is pristine and nearly new.

This happens with the PS4 console too. It gets caught in the power cycle loop with the RAM during startup as Android OS Is terrible at this sort of thing like Windows 10 once was before MS fixed it for gaming laptops. If you go to MrMobile on YouTube on the 5G phone you can see just how bad Android OS is vs Heuwei's new OS running Android Apps when intellations to your device even with a microSD card in your phone or using an OTG USB-C device for 5g/wifi 6 and micro SD external card support beyond the internal MicroSD card slot as I see it as more of a second sim card slot for 5g mobile sim card hardware slot for service soon since Google ditched the Pixel Tablet having used Android tablets before with the Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet as it also had this issue you stated before and Google has not fixed it even in 2019 if they went OEMs not to ditch Android for making their own OSes again soon unless google gives OEMs more support for Android support longterm like Apple is doing right now for it's iOS and iPadOS devices.

The bottom like this isn't a hardware issue but a Android OS problem that was never fixed by Google as I seen this on The old K1 tablet that Nvidia made and it's not good for OS support as app makers will start to ditch Android unless google makes needed changes to it's policy on supporting and fixing Android OS for the long term here as This phone to me is built to last for a decade here looking at hardware specs alone for a cloud gaming solution once a OTG wifi 6/55G battery pack is made for it or a phone mophie like case using usb-c or for the mobile Razer controller to boost it's long term usage before needing to upgrade it again here as the OS is killing this phones potential to thrive for the long term.

Try holding the power button and the volume up at the same time. May be the volume up I'm not sure try both.

So mines doing the same since I bought it a week ago, but I'm having to do this reset 3-5 times per DAY. Has anyone got a clue as to what is causing this?

Razer Phone 2 user here..my phone was sleeping few minutes ago when i tried to wake it up but unable to..at first i thought my battery went flat but i double checked my wall socket and the switch was on as i had left my phone to charge few hours ago plus also the chroma was pulsing green..so here i am with another phone trying to get answers from all that have shared these troubleshooting methods..i tried the holding the power and volume up buttons method but didn't work however right after that i tried the holding the power button for 10 to 20 seconds method and it worked..my phone screen lighted up at exactly 10 seconds..still not sure what happened though but it's fine now..hope this helps and thanks guys for sharing 🙂 🙂

i can by trying the power and -volume,but i cant use the recovery mode,if i select it, it goes black then, back to the boot screen again

what did razer support do to help all who are experiencing problems with this new phone product ???
a big part of a product and reliability is the response from the company who put the product out there -

I have had almost every issue I have seen in this thread with my stock razer phone. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. When I contacted support they told me to system restore the phone which I'm going to try.

I had a similar issue but tried the pushing the volume DOWN button, and the power button at the same time, and it turned back on thank goodness!

My phone did the same thing when I opened 2 cameras ( dumb idea) I thought it got bricked, try this

Remove your case if you have one
Press power, volume + and volume - at the same time until you see light on the screen(5 to 15 secs)

Hope this helps

This is the fix, for me at least. I halfway freaked when I couldn't power on, or get a reboot from power & vol +/- alone...all 3 got me back to functional

I did that then it works but I turn it off and it won't work then I do that again and that still happends. PLS tell me a fix i even tried factory reset.

I your RAZER Phone ever shuts down on you out of nowhere like it did to me, just hold on the power button 10 to 20 secs 'til you see the Boot animation. Simple as that. I did not try the power and volume + button combination but it might work aswell.

My phone died earlier today and whenever I plug it into any USB-C cords it starts up the rebooting process but then proceeds to show a full white battery and then goes back to a black screen. If i unplug it it just shows the full battery and then shuts off. My phone is around 10 months old with a couple drops but nothing too big. I've tried the volume up trick but still no luck.

did you try what others did? Volume + button and power at same time?

I did a factory reset at the end, you just have to have the USB plugged to a computer (charging as far as I remember) and press volume up and power to wake the phone in the "weird developer mode" and then just reset.

Mine just did the same thing.

I put it on charge, set an alarm

woke up before the alarm went off. tried to dismiss it. phone froze so I held power button down and now been stuck at the animated boot screen.

also running stock.

You just saved my day. Thank you.

I've got 2 of these .and only 1 of them is getting this random crashing and then not turning back on without having to press vol up and power .

It was just on charging and when it was checked it was "dead" and the notification light was a solid yellow.

Would be nice to know what's doing it

Holding the Power and the Volume+ worked. Do we still not know what causes this issue? Can someone at Razer give us some information on when this will be fixed?

I found that it switches on if you disconnect the charger. Hope that helps!!!

try to completely empty the battery when it's empty the red light should turn off then plais your phone at change for 1 or 2 hours with out removing from charge and try to turn it on . this should work if you didn't change your boot animetion or something like that

This worked for me as well.. Yesterday my screen turned off then wouldn't come alive again.. Vol + and power got me back up and running in a couple seconds

This actually worked very well. My phone turned on right away after a couple of seconds.
