[TotW] Games That Make You Go AAAHHH!

Userlevel 7

BAD WORDS. Lot and lots of bad words!

For those of us in the States, it's Halloween on Saturday. It's bittersweet this year because in many places, our tradition of going trick-or-treating has been canceled. That also means no costume parties, no gatherings, no bags of candy and spooky stories. The pandemic truly is a terrifying beast. I also recognize that not everyone on Insider is from the States and not everyone is familiar with Halloween. So in order for us to stay within the spooky spirit, I'd like to know your most scariest moment in gaming.

It doesn't have to be from a scary game. It could be a scary thing that happened while you were playing or even a nightmare scenario when you lost all your save data. That one still haunts me.

As many others have said, Resident Evil was definitely one that got the blood flowing. Dino Crisis got me pretty good a few times as well as the tension in Clock Tower. Silent Hill was another that got me when I first played too.

One of my most vivid memories is when Doom 3 first came out. I had just built a new rig with the brand spanking new Nvidia 6800 ultra and had all of the lights out in my room. My door was to my back and it was kind of late at night I want to say, probably around 11:30 PM (EST) My grandmother came into the room and said my name a few times, I didn't hear her because I had headphones on.. So she grabbed my shoulder at the same time a demon popped out of a corridor!

I screamed like a little girl and nearly fell out of my chair. My heart was racing and I immediately started sweating. My grandma started laughing really hard and I started laughing too because it was super hilarious. I never get scared by stuff very easily but that moment was the absolute worst ever. Such perfect timing on her part!
Still remember my first time playing Left 4 dead and be scared by bulk of zombies
FNAF is probably the most scariest game I've ever played, though this is because I don't play too many horror games.

HAHAH definetly unexpected, but I prefer them to move it 21 days rather than have a Mass Effect launch. A buggy CD Project Red title unfinished upon release would be truly spooky!

Hello Maximusisback

I was making a joke. :p

CD Projekt Red has been working on the game for 7 years, he manufactures a video game work of art.

I can wait for the title to be released as long as they want. ^ _ ^

I would be so happy if other video game companies were like them in prioritizing quality over quantity.

I never was into "horror" games like Silent Hill or Resident Evil, the game-play was too slow for me (at least the first ones).

But a game like FEAR gave me dome good goosebumps, it's one of the best FPS that I've ever play.

When it comes to my biggest fear in game, I remember it perfectly.
I was playing Doom 3 with my newly acquired 5.1 sound kit in a level where the "babies" attack you (and I can't stand those ones), when I heard a sound coming from behind me.
It made me turn around with my character but there was nothing, making me even more nervous.
Suddenly, I felt a grasp on my shoulder, it made me fall from my chair screaming.
It was a friend of mine that I invited to come play some LAN and I totally forgot about it.

I agree. I don't mind waiting. I'd rather the devs not have to suffer a crunch, and we get a better quality product.
APEX is legend for me lol

amnesia with my friends is soo craaaazy. if someone flinched we switch places and it is the best experience of all time!

Its the kind of game you like watching other people play, but not playing it yourself. Just like 2g1c
Outlast is by far the creepiest horror game I've played ever since. The jump-scare was nerve wracking.

I feel you! usually most horror games could let the character have a weapon for defense, but in Outlast, you need to record allll scary stuff.....

Forcing you to face your fear0.0

The game that makes me scream is Scary Neighbor. It always terrifies me whenever he got too close and bust me outright. I suck at that game. :frown_:
Silent Hill 2 is a masterpiece horror video game. My knee trembled and my emotion was manipulated because of it's twitches. The worst, I got nightmare!😱
