I have a question regarding the HDMI port support of the Razer USB-C Dock (RC21-02250100-R3U1).
Is it possible to use this port to display content on a connected monitor without being affected by DRM or similar restrictions?
Currently, I am using the Blade Pro 17 and have configured a 3-screen setup (+2 external displays) as follows:
- Display 1: The built-in screen of the Razer Blade 17 Pro
- Display 2: Connected via the HDMI port on the laptop
- Display 3: Connected via the Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port on the laptop using an Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), and further connected to the display through the HDMI port on the Anker hub
In general, I can work comfortably across three extended displays. However, when trying to play certain video content from services like Amazon Prime Video or F1 TV, Display 3 goes black. For F1 TV, reconnecting the display restores the content, but for Amazon Prime Video and similar services, the display remains black (disconnected).
Since Display 2 functions without any issues, I suspect this problem may be caused by the Anker hub in the connection chain. My question is, does the Razer USB-C Dock address such issues?
The new USB 4 dock mentions support for dual screens, but I don’t see a similar specification for this dock. Does this mean that it does not support such functionality? If so, what is the intended purpose of the HDMI port on this dock?
I understand this message is a bit lengthy, but I would appreciate it if anyone could provide clarification regarding its compatibility and functionality.
*my display does NOT support USB-C connectivity, so I need to use either a DisplayPort or HDMI connection.
