Interesting read!

Just purchased a faulty one with this issue and interested to see if waiting it out just allows it to work!

I highly recommend returning it and purchasing a different product brand (if that option is available). Razer’s RMA process is inept, and I wouldn’t wish that ordeal upon anyone.

I’m still experiencing these issues. Nothing has changed. I also had a couple of problems while using the keyboard & mouse with Windows 10. I currently dual boot Linux & Windows 11 Pro (I despise Windows 11, even with the recent updates).

I suspect that Razer is well aware of these faulty/defective and/or non-compliant devices, which is why an actual solution hasn’t been achieved.

A simple & effective method would be to refund customers their money, however Razer does not comprehend such a concept.

I can 100% confirm that this issue is particularly a power delivery problem! Most likely the culprit is a faulty component, or just a down-right defective product from the get-go.

Today, on December 4, 2023 at 1:20pm est., I woke up my PC from the “balanced” Windows 11 power mode (set via Control Panel). The mouse was non-functional & the keyboard had somehow entered into the “initializing color scheme setting”. I was able to use the keys to restart the computer. As my PC was in the process of restarting, the halt-on-boot warning popped up to notify me that I did not have a keyboard connected. The mouse was also fully non-functional (no lights, nothing). So I shutdown my PC & I turned off the PSU power switch. Powered on the computer, and let it cycle on-off according to its default operating mode. Then I switched the PSU switch back on, and physically turned on my PC via the case’s power switch. Finally, my PC booted normally and the keyboard & mouse are both functioning normally.

I doubt a BIOS update is going to remedy this, unless there firmware implemented within the internal components that require updating algorithms for the power/USB interface.

It appears that the issue is a fault in the haptic engine.  I’m having a similar issue to what you’ve described over various posts (and comments).  For me, I only have the Razer Basilisk v3 Mouse and it would “click” 2-3 times when plugged and powered on as if it was trying to initialize the haptic engine, but encountering a fault.  This would happen when connected to my PC, SBC, Tablet or Phone.

The mouse would be recognized briefly, for half a second, then shut off and disappear from Device Manager.

I opened the mouse, disconnected the FFC that connects the scroll button and haptic engine to the motherboard, plugged the mouse into my tablet and sure enough the mouse initializes successfully.

In my troubleshooting, I noticed that the mouse is intermittently recognized by the system and the scroll wheel works for a very brief moment.  The FFC that connects the scroll wheel and haptic engine to the mouse’s motherboard splits, one end going to the scroll wheel, the other end going to the haptic engine.  However, the end that connects the haptics is glued in, so I can not disconnect the FFC from the haptic engine, to regain use of the scroll wheel, leaving the haptics disabled.  I can only disconnect both the scroll wheel and haptics on the end that connects the FFC to the mouse's motherboard.  However, I am *tempted* to cut the FFC to the haptic engine, leaving the FFC to the scroll wheel plugged in, but then I’d be effectively permanently damaging my mouse and I don’t think those little FFC are easy to come by!

For now, to enable scrolling, I customized the 2 buttons below / behind the scroll wheel to function as scroll up / down and enabled turbo (speed 10) so that pressing and holding either up or down actively / smoothly scrolls up and down.
