I’m trying to understand the recent changes to how Axon generates images. Before this update, the app didn’t have a model dropdown that I recall (if it did, I never noticed or used it) it was just “powered by Luma,” and over time I really got to know how that engine behaved. I built my prompts and workflow around its specific aesthetic, which had a softer, painterly, fantasy‑driven look that made Axon feel unique.
Now there are two selectable models, and both of them generate images in a much sharper, more realistic, more architectural style. They look closer to concept art or MMO loading screens, which is fine for certain uses, but the main issue being: AXON IS A WALLPAPER SOFTWARE, and the previous aesthetic was a big part of why many of us enjoyed using it.
The shift feels sudden, and it’s a noticeable change for anyone who spent time learning how the original engine responded to prompts. It would be really helpful to have the option to use that earlier rendering style again, or at least a “classic mode” for people who preferred that look. The new models are good at realism, but they don’t match the creative vibe Axon originally had or the workflows some of us developed around it.
I’m not trying to complain but just giving honest feedback and wondering why this shift happened and why new models weren’t just added IN ADDITION TO the previous rendering style. The earlier engine had a distinct style that was special, and it would be really helpful to have the option to use the original version again.
For context reference on why I am concerned: I am a community creator who has posted new creations pretty much daily for months now, in addition to doing both the daily challenges and entering in the last 4 create contests!
Anyone else have any thoughts or opinions on this? I’d love to hear all sides of this regardless if you agree or disagree! 👀
Thanks All!
