Hello folks,
Since I haven't found a program lately, which gives me an ambient effect on my Razer Ornate Chroma, I simply wrote a program myself.

Function:

  • Maps your screen to your Razer mouse, keyboard and mousepad to create an "ambient effect"
  • You can change the saturation
  • Only ca. 3-5% CPU load!

Settings can be found by right-clicking the program icon in your notification area on your task bar.

Note:
A Windows Smart Screen message may appear during installation. This tells you that my program is not signed by a certification authority recognized by Microsoft. Because these certifications cost a lot of money, which I cannot afford as a student, my program is not signed.

Isn't there already a software of the same name, Ambilight? Or was it Amblight?

Yeah, I think he might have made this because the Ornata is not supported with that other program (at least it is not for me), it seems like that program is abandoned now.

I would like to know how to use this software.

Just download the installer "RazerAmbilightSetup.msi" from here, install it and you should be able to run the program from the corresponding desktop icon. Make sure, you have Razer Synapse open and chroma apps enabled.

Its called Razer Ambilight. It already exist. Ambilight is lighting say behind like a screen that changes colors depending on what is on the screen, so I guess it looks like its coming to get you. I wouldn't know I'm still rocking the Blackwidow ultimate 2016 edition green green and more green. It might be op in a grass simulator though

Is there already such a program? Oops, my mistake, I probably didn't find it when I was looking for it ^^. As for the installer, I forgot to set it to English. Just download it again, and it should be in English now.

Nicely Done. For a minute there it appeared to be working on my all my other gear too, but then they dropped back to my default settings. 😞

Hey, nice features, but i think there is a big problem here,
In fact, your software copy all the screen, but it should be the extension of the screen, just the down of the screen must be copied to get a full ambilight effect

In theory, you're right. If you take it exactly the term Ambilight is not suitable for my program. However, the effect is what I wanted it to be. If you like I could try to implement a real Ambilight mode. ^^

Release V1.5

Added the ability to change the color saturation with a slider. Just install the new version from here and the option can be found by right-clicking the notification tray icon. ^^

Please i would be so glad if you add HDK into it💓 I have one sticked behind my monitor and I'd like to have it for movies or games.
Please try adding it even you don't have it, and thanks you for this.

You can right click the icon in the notification area on the taskbar and select "change tickrate". You can then manually modify the rate, at which the effect should be updated. A higher update rate means less cpu load.

thank you very much for this! keep up the good work. IF you can implement the ambilight to HDK you will be the reason to buy it...not synapse chroma craps..YOU

edit: also razer goliathus is not working with the app

Does anyone know if this works with the Chroma HDK led strips?

There's a default Ambient option in Synapse now that works with the HDK kit.

Probably the best update so far.. been thinking between razer nommo chroma or logitech g560 speaker (due to it's ambient lighting).. with this I might just go for razer HDK + nommo chroma

Thank you!! I just got an Ornata Chroma myself (and loving it) and this ambilight effect on the keyboard is awesome! It's pretty impressive while watching videos or gaming 😃

I don't know if anyone else has developed something like this. For myself I built my Ambilight-monitor setup with an Arduino and single RGB LEDs following this instructions: https://imgur.com/a/7jRhp
