Razer Cortex keeps crashing/rebooting my PC :(

Is there allready any solution? I installed Cortex today and still keeps crashing my PC and i'm not the only one i see.

I have the same issue. I installed Razer Synapse and it offered me to install Razer Cortex too. After i intstalled Razer Cortex my windows keeps crashing. I disabled both Synapse and Cortex and everything works fine now.

i needed Synapse - so just uninstalled it all, rebooted, then ONLY installed Synapse...now all good.

I have had a similar experience with cortex and chroma.. I first thought it was a windows or maybe the Logitech G hub issue but turns out it was razer all along :( .. Have to live with the default colour scheme on my keyboard but its better than having random BSOD errors and loosing games and work.. If there is a fix for the same I'd love to download it again

Synapse doesnt crash ur games....its only cortex that crashes them. Just remove cortex then u will be able to customise your lighting

Same experience, just bought Ornata Chroma and Basilisk Essential. Installed all the add-ons for Synapse including Cortex and since computer now freezes and won't allow reboot, sign off, or even task manager. Thought it was Nividia control panel but after reading this I'm sure it's Cortex, because I wasn't having ANY sorta problems till after the installation. I keep my PC and all the drivers updated daily and really enjoyed using Cortex because it actually improved the FPS. (Nividia was 30-40FPS/Cortex 80-115 FPS) Same game totally different graphics. For some reason my Minidump folder is empty (And yes Hidden Files are enabled), so I generated a Cortex Report instead, link below. Useless info since I found a log report.... PC Specs: Processor - AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six Core Ram - 16 GBs System Type - 64 Bit Windows 10 Home Version 1909 Graphic Card- Geforce GTX 1650 Super (Driver Version 457.51) 2 internal SSD 1.) 152 GB used / 308 GB Free 2.) 197 MB used / 239 GB Free (The Storage Pool) Kaspersky Total Surcerity is running Advance System Care (v14 Free) Driver Booster (V8.1 Free) MSI Afterburner (V4.6.2.15745) AI Suite 2 (v3.00.11) ^Those are all the background software I use to optimize my Gaming which is probably overkill now that Im seeing it in text. :sweat_smile:😂 Honestly going to reinstall just Synapse without add-on and follow this thread for updates. Just a bummer because Cortex was amazing when I got it to run for 15 minutes after two freezes on game launch. (First two times I launched game from Geforce Experience, third time was by Cortex. Honestly - cortex is a waste of time - it really doesnt do anything - if you have a half-decent rig you dont need it. remove it and all will be lovely.

Has there ever been a fix for this? I'm getting this issue in 2021. Ever since I installed Razer Cortex and Razer Synapse my computer freezes from time to time and I can't do anything other than press the restart button on my computer's case.

the fix is to uninstall Cortex bro. Its pretty useless software anyway plus it closes stuff you dont want closed and does what it wants
