unable to retrieve your game's current settings

I was trying to optimize Call of Duty Warzone with booster prime and this message popped up: "Unable to retrieve your game's current settings. Please restart the game or directly changing in-game settings. If you still encounter problems, update Razer Cortex to its latest version (if applicable)." I tried restarting the game and it still didn't work. My Razer Cortex is also on its latest version. What do I do?

Same, with BF 6… I bet it has something to do with the games being launched from a third party like EA or Battle.net…

Did anybody he the fix to the unable to retrieve game settings?

This usually happens when Razer Cortex can't read Warzone's configuration files properly.

A few things you can try:

  1. Close both Warzone and Razer Cortex completely, then launch Razer Cortex as Administrator and start the game again.

  2. Open Warzone once, change any graphics setting manually, apply the changes, exit the game, and then try optimizing through Cortex again.

  3. Make sure your Warzone config files aren't set to "Read-only". You can find them in the Documents/Call of Duty folder.

  4. If you're using OneDrive or another cloud-sync service for Documents, temporarily disable syncing and test again.

  5. In Razer Cortex, remove Warzone from the game library and let Cortex detect it again.

  6. As a last resort, reset the Cortex optimization profile or reinstall Razer Cortex.

If none of that works, the issue may be on Razer's side. Warzone updates sometimes change configuration file locations or formats, which can temporarily break Cortex's game optimization feature until Razer releases a fix.
