I let’s recharge my headset over 4 hours (turned off) after the headset is low. After i turned on, it’s yell there low battery without explaination. I got green blinking after the charge and they still said battery low. What’s the heck is this kind of firmware?! Razer can you fix the firmware issue?! It’s become a problem over charging system or provide a new solution for our issue?!
Same issue here, indicating 20% and after over charging it still showing 20% or showing 40% but not fully charged
Same issue. Different Type-C cables, different chargers. Nevertheless it is always 20% and immediate yelling “Battery low”.
Headset was bought 7 days ago!
I really cannot comprehend how this is an issue for a brand like Razer
Same here. I had ‘low battery’ info so I powered my Barracuda X 2022 down. Then I plugged them to my phone charger and a red LED started blinking. After about 3-4 hours I wanted to check on them and LED wasn’t blinking anymore. So I powered the headset on, but to my surprise it said ‘low battery’.
I think that the battery is really fully charged but due to firmware bug it doesn’t up change the battery charge percentage status. It was stuck at 20% on Razer android App before charging, then I used them for over an hour and they didn’t automatically power down, like they would, if the battery was really dead. Razer app said it was still at 20%. Because the headset firmware ‘thinks’ it’s on 20%, it spams ‘low battery’ every 10 minutes or so. But the headset doesn’t die anyway. Which is annoying, because hearing ‘low battery’ all the time is infuriating.
I’ve seen other recent reports like this. I even tried to update firmware but Firmware update tool says that the latest update is installed (presumably v1.6.0_r1). The headset came with this update. I bought it in December 2023.
Razer, would you kindly fix this issue already?
This needs more attention, I am tempted to return this item and request a full refund. This headset is not new and this core issue doesn’t seem to be fixed. I’ve seen lots of threads about this same issue and nobody has suggested a real fix apart from letting the battery drain to zero and charging it up again.
I’ve not yet attempted this as it sounds like it could take 2-3 days to actually do, all the while the headset is unusable due to it complaining about battery.
A prompt update on this would be appreciated or I may never trust a razer product again.
I found workaround !
After you charged headset - just turn it on for some seconds before unplug cable. Then the charge level will be shown like real value.
If you already unplugged cable - just plug it again and turn on the headset (or turn on and plug cable).
Summary: it seems the charge level is updating inside headset software while it is ON.
I also found another solution.
I turned ON the headphones, connected them to the Bluetooth of my phone and while they were ON I connected the charging cable. And in the razer audio application, you could see how the battery was increasing.

This actually worked for me. Thanks!
SOLUTION that work on me.
- Charge your barracuda x 2022 for few minutes 3-5 mins.
- While charging turn on your headset.
- Then connect your headset to your phone via bluetooth.
- Then open your Razer Audio on your phone then connect to the headset.
- The battery percentage should be at 100% unplug your headset and voila! Try to turn on and off your to see if the battery changed.
- If not, try step 1 to 5 again.
to clarify, should i charge it while its on from now on and then wait till 100% since it does charge quickly accdg to the app. thanks in advance
Nice that there are workarounds but Razer has to fix it anyway. Doing some weird 6 step ‘dance’ every time I want to charge my headphones is just unacceptable. Well, maybe unless it’s some no-name headset from Aliexpress with great price/performance ratio. Is Razer an Aliexpress-level brand? Judging by their support (or the lack of thereof) it would seem to be the case.
If they can fix it via firmware update then go for it. If it’s a hardware issue, then they should recall the headset and fix the hardware.

This is very helpful. Thanks so much!
Heeeey! READ THIS!!!!***********
Good news razer did an update for barracuda x 2022 having the battery issue while being off. I just installed the update and finally worked, my girlfriend had the same issue, did the same, update and worked!!! So probably this has been fixed already here is the link for the update:

this works, upon update the battery was back to 100%, thank you
this would be great if the firmware updater even got past step 2: “power on your headset”. it’s on… and connected with audio playing through it but the updater doesn’t think it is.
Not working here... I am monitoring through the Razer app and it seems to be charging, after 3% it stops, then I have the unplug and plug again. Then both headset and app starts blocking again, but after 3% it stops again.
Same with me since a month now facing this issue. Never goes beyond 10% now that limit is at 7%. Strange. I am facing this issue with Barracuda Pro.
The discussion here solved my problem.
I have charged the headphone for hours and the Battery was stuck at 90%, so, what I did was this:
Step 1: Connect your headphone to your Phone via Bluetooth.
Step 2: Charge the headphone while it is connected.
Step 3: Check if the battery percentage has gone up.
Step 4: Then, if it went up to 100% your problem is fixed.
Just follow the steps and it will solve the problem. If not, then, something else must be done or update the firmware.

Worked first time I tried it. Accurately showing power level and no more annoying “LOW BATTERY” warning. Thanks!!!
