Looking For Recommendations On A New Razer Headset

Hello :)

As the title says, I’m looking for someone better qualified than I am to help me decide on the right Razer headset for me.

For context, I’ve been using the Razer Nari ever since I got it 5 years ago all the way back in 2020 and it is by far the best headset I’ve ever used both in terms of performance and comfort, and it breaks my heart that I happened to be careless enough one day that led me to accidentally letting it fall from a significant height that resulted in one side of the swivel part of the ear to snap off.

Even still, this headset is so dear to me that I have been trying to keep it somewhat together with some tape, because it still works and sounds perfectly well apart from the fact that it’s hanging on by a wire on one side, though I understand that is no permanent solution by any means.

Honestly, I’ve been poring over reviews across multiple platforms trying to figure out which headset to invest in, but I’m finding myself both confused and overwhelmed by the differing opinions and the different models.

I myself play on the PlayStation 5, and the Razer Nari has fulfilled almost my every need when playing with the sole exception being the quality of the mic, though I consider it a minor sacrifice for the comfort and sound quality the rest of the headset offers me. As for particular models, I’ve been looking into the Blackshark V2 Pro (2023), the Kaira Pro Hyperspeed for the PS5, and the Blackshark V3 Pro.

Those are the main three I am torn between, mostly because I am at a bit of a loss to the difference between the models and their PS5 specific counterparts and how they would perform in comparison. In terms of what I’m looking for ideally in a new headset:

• Dual connectivity would be preferable, as one of the major features I enjoy most about the Nari is how it can be used both wired and wirelessly.

• Retractable or detachable mic (with improved quality for online play). Again, merely a personal preference which my beloved Nari has, with the only downside being its… unfortunate mic quality.

• Noise-cancellation. I believe most Razer headsets have standardized noise-cancelling already which is great, I’m just listing it regardless as I find the Nari to be in a league of its own when it comes to it, almost as if you’re enclosed in a theatre and it’s only you and the game you’re playing—that feeling is truly sensational and it’s vital to my overall quality and enjoyment of whatever I’m listening to.

• Immersive 3D audio. Again, I believe most Razer headsets have this quality and that the PS5 has its own specialized presets for 3D audio, I’m just listing it as a factor to bring focus to what I’m looking for more specifically.

• Comfortable earcups. With the Nari, one of my first impressions of the headset when I got it back in 2020 was its size. It is almost freakishly large (I say this with affection), and yet it’s actually the perfect size and weight to where I can wear it comfortably for hours on end without feeling any sort of compression on the sides of my head from my glasses. While it’s not exactly imperative that the headset is large or on the heavier side, I would simply prefer that it is built with long-lasting comfort in mind and would not irritate any ear piercings or dig into my glasses.

As for the sound profile itself, the most important aspect for me personally is that the sounds are deep, immersive, and lifelike as opposed to boxed-in, muted, and dull like the Logitech headset I recently got as a replacement, only to realize it doesn’t compare to what I’ve been used to and doesn’t satisfy my needs while playing. It’s not at all my intention to badmouth another brand, I’m simply speaking from my own personal experience in an attempt to give a better understanding of what I’m looking for in a headset.

The games that I’m used to playing range from FPS like Overwatch 2, to more story-driven and cinematic like Genshin Impact, as well as others such as Final Fantasy Rebirth and Elden Ring which all have a great depth of sound to them with incredible soundtracks that I would love to be able to hear the full-bodied, authentic sound of.

I would also like to make a point of noting that I use the Nari often just to listen to music, so a headset with a great sound for music that can produce clear vocals while still delivering quality bass would be super nice. I enjoy being able to play my game and listen to music simultaneously, I find that to be a relaxing and immersive experience.

Unfortunately, I’m someone who gets easily stressed out by having to make a change like this, so I would truly appreciate genuine input from someone who understands the details better than I do and can provide a suitable recommendation.

Hopefully this post wasn’t too long and that it wasn’t complicated to follow—this is my very first time posting on any sort of forum and I ordinarily wouldn’t, though I just supposed it couldn’t hurt to try.

(PS im not trying to glaze on the nari its just the only point of reference i have in terms of a good headset </3 im open to any other razer model so long as it suits the needs i have for gameplay and music playing on the ps5)
