2020 Base Blade 15 Fan Noise | Razer Insider

I've posted this in the support forum but they always lock the thread so no one can reply, trying again here.

I raised a complaint with Razer about the excessive fan noise on my 2020 blade 15.

I'm referring to noise when the CPU load is only a few percent, power is only a couple of watts and CPU temperature is less than 50 degrees. Power and temp from HwINFO.

I understand when the CPU is under load the fans will be spin up, but when lightly loaded I expect quiet.

So began a journey of messages with Razer tech support including many screenshots, screen recordings and audio recordings.

They eventually conceded that the issue is the fan control in the BIOS, the fan curve needs updating.

They have no specific plans to implement this fix and simply said I should submit a feature request via synapse software.

They also show zero interest in helping me return the laptop for a refund.

The fan noise dominates the user experience.

Some searching has led me to other users with the same complaint.

I don't think Razer is going to rectify it.

So for anyone with the same issue, this seems to be where the dead-end is with Razer.

They have suggested I ask the retailer I purchased the laptop from for a refund.

I'm wondering if anyone else has made progress with this issue?

I replied to your PM. I'll ensure to leave this open while the investigation is still ongoing. Please continue communicating with our Support Team through the same email thread.
I am working on getting a replacement PC and then hopefully will be able to get a refund for this Blade 15.

The issue I have is the same as described here,

I'm really amazed Razer does not issue a BIOS or other software/firmware update to fix this issue.

The constant noise ruins an otherwise nice laptop.
