2023 Blade 14 - Battery Life - Joke?

Hey guys! I hope everyone is well!

I recently purchased my Blade.
Ryzen 9 7940HS
RTX 4060
32GB

On the website they promise 10 hours of battery life using the minimum. However, in my day to day use, which is ridiculously simple. Only Chrome, Whatsapp and some emails with a brightness of maximum 30-40%, Economy Mode, with processor peak of maximum 75% and minimum of 1. The battery lasts no more than 4 hours.

I think this is absurd, I can't believe this is correct. I've already tried formatting, reinstalling all the drivers, getting the drivers directly from Razer. I've also tried updating all the drivers with the latest ones released, and NOTHING, absolutely nothing, solves it.

I was frustrated like never before, because I had a Zephyrus G14 and the battery lasted a MINIMUM of 7-8 hours doing exactly the same work, and often much heavier than that. Which is the minimum you would expect from a laptop of this level.

Please, I deeply hope there is some solution to this. Well, honestly? If I can't solve it, I'll sell this laptop at a bargain price and probably never buy a Razer again.

Hi, I have a blade 14 2023. I did some optimization and the battery life is roughly 7~8 hours.

Here is what I did, hope it helps.

  • In windows setting, switch the power plan to ‘best power efficiency’.
  • In windows setting, create a new power plan that restrict the minimum & maximum processor load. (however it doesn’t provide a lot benefit).
  • In Nvida control panel Switch graphics settings to prefer ‘integrated graphics’.
  • In windows setting, close hardware acceleration and variable refresh rate.
  • In razer central, close the razer Axon and razer Cortex. They cost a lot energy. Axon even runs only in discrete GPU.
  • In windows setting--graphics settings, choose the dummy GPU for each program to integrated graphics.
  • Lower the screen brightness to 30%~50%.

After these settings, under normal daily life (open web browser, music player, office, and other softwares), the blade last roughly 6.5~8 hours. If I don’t open to many programs at the same time, it last even longer. (e.g. open only a browser to watch videos, or only open Office)。

The only thing I really had to do was allow the refresh rate to drop to 60hz on battery, otherwise if you’re getting poor battery life it’s very much likely related to running processes.  Things like hardware/temperature monitoring or applications like MSI afterburner do not allow for proper CPU power saving and will destroy battery life.  Turn these things off when seeking long battery life.  That said, I don’t get 10hrs by any means,  usually 6-7hrs max.  This is in contrast to the supposedly less power efficient 2021 blade 14, with a smaller battery capacity - that constantly netted 10-12hrs of battery life, even with the screen refresh rate set to 165hz.  I miss the battery life of that laptop.  Hoping some software/windows updates in the future help push this laptop to true 10-12hr battery life - the specs suggest it is possible, but the 2023 battery life is no where near as good as 2021 for me.
